October 7, 2011 12:33 PM

They're one of the oldest life forms on the planet and live in some of the hottest and coldest places on Earth. If there's an unknown species of scorpion, Lorenzo Prendini is likely to find it. Prendini is an associate curator at the American Museum of Natural History and travels the world to find scorpions, with the help of the National Science Foundation.
