- In the last couple of years there has been talk of a "Courageous Restraint" medal. Perhaps this mind-set contributed to the decisions made that day in the command center. There are way too many mixed messages being sent in a PC world, and they have no place in combat. I have no idea if the officers in charge of that command center were concerned with collateral damage, or if they were just incompetent. In either case, when a brother-in-arms makes a desperate plea for cover fire and assistance, you get after it and help in any way you can, regradless of the consequences. These officers have to live with these decisions for the rest of their lives.

- this is the worst part of the interview, the reporter should not suggest he was throwing away his life. it was giving his life, not throwing it away.
