Are you kidding me? The press secretary consistently acts like an undereducated high school senior and has adopted his ruler and chief's habits of smiling and looking away when someone asks a hard question. The indication attempted by that behavior is that the person asking the question is both stupid and uneducated as "how could you ask such a question....???" look he comes back with. He's not an idiot, but he's doing a good job of acting like one....

As for his fearless leader, he's in way over his head that's why he can't call congress back, offer clear and concise direction and/or do anything remotely "Presidential" to aid in this situation.

His main goal is to bankrupt the current system so ''big brother'' can come in and take over.

Write it on the wall; if he's not stopped in 2012, we'll pay the price by 2015. The system can't stand another two or three years of this process. He know's it and is fully bent on bringing the house down...

When will other American's wake up, stand up and vote him out???

by the way, I could care less about the color of his skin but am certain the content of his character is not what he would lead you to believe it is. Read up, check him out, "Judge him by the people he surrounds himself with now...." and you'll see. That is if you're searching for truth....

Too sad.

At this point bringing them back will only re-highlight the problem of gridlock. The market has a better chance of stabilizing with those clowns out of Washington. Obama had a chance to stand up to the tea party and did not - all words and no stick. If he wants to survive he must show he has a pair - its as simple as that. When you try and make everyone happy - no one wins. He has to stand and truly fight for the things he believes in. If your going to go down - and right now he is - go down swinging. This is not what we voted for...

Why should he? They are supposed to be some of the smartest adults responsible for living up to their obligations and earning the wages assigned to doing that job. No one has to call me into work to get something done.

Dear Mr. President,

Like some Americans, I have remained silent since your election. It is now time to speak to you and with luck, someone will let you see this. .

I am a Democrat, always have been. I voted for you and convinced many others to do so. Like the majority of voters, we were happy and proud that you were elected because you had the intelligence, understanding and courage to deal head-on with the mess your predecessors created. It was clear: you had the guts and you would have the glory.

I knew that your considerable skills and knowledge prepared you to understand and remedy our post Bush economic problems and you did. Your actions and those of your appointees were brilliant and successful.

Finally I was hopeful for the same reasons that you deeply understood the urgent need for entitlement and tax reform and you demonstrated that you did. You brought together two great Americans, Erskine Bowles and Alan Simpson and they did what you requested and what our country so desperately needs.

We American know that their plan to save us was produced in response to your orders and we honor you for it. I can understand that if you place your power behind their work, it will upset some folks close to you but the majority who went to the polls for you, like me will remember why we were there for you.

Fear not the loss of affection by close political advocates, or the anger of political adversaries. We know them, we hear them, we dismiss them because their noise is only important if you are silenced by them. Fear only the paralysis that results from your own personal fears culminating in fine speeches but absent action on the clear and necessary proposals you inaugurated. Your closest advisers will never allow you to step out of their protective influence because it could and will offend some, but that is exactly what great presidents do.

When the best and greatest men in the place where you now stand were faced with national crises they resisted the false political safety of their closest advisers. They avoided defensive verbal battles and corners. Instead they mustered the courage to break the false political rules that conventionalize lessor men and dispensed with the protective, clamorous advice of nervous strategists. The great ones did what was necessary to save the country and it rocked the world!

You had the great sense and courage to produce the answer, Against all odds you must get behind it.

You, after all, are the man.

Your supporter.

Here is a short condensation of your noticeable effort. It has broad support. With courage it will not be the remedy lost:

The Bowles-Simpson "Chairmen's Mark" Deficit Reduction Plan

"The co-chairs of President Obama's Deficit Commission, have released a "Chairmen's Mark," a broad plan to reduce the federal deficit by cutting spending and raising taxes. The plan includes various options that would impose different changes on the tax side of the fiscal equation. The first option, "The Zero Plan," would, among other things, pare away most tax expenditures, devote $80 billion annually to reduce the deficit, and use remaining revenue gains to cut tax rates.

our president should call the congress back from their vacation and work on the issue to bring our economy back. president is the chief, he should stand up to the congress and cancell all their vacation. we should fire all congress so that we can have a smaller government as Republicans always wanted, they should all quit.

It seems that Jay Carney really cannot come up with an answer.
