I feel sorry for this guy. I know how it feels when you're all alone. My life of course, is very different from his: I have studied well and I live with my great mother and have promising future in career life. But I can't leave because there's no other places I can go to. I'm sure colton will be able to grasp a good life after he gets out.

The system failed him. He should have been able to make money from his life story. I bet he would have been happy to pay back most of the people he owed money. The people should have had insurance anyway.

I hope after prison he has a place to go.

He is going to do well after he get out of prison.

I would have given him probation.

He's the neatest break-in criminal teen I've ever seen. Most kids like to trash a house they've broken into. when you've been raised without proper consequences, no boundaries just adults who never, ever nurture only beat and neglect, you can't expect him to act normal.....

Fly Colton. The system failed Colt. they person that shold be servong 6years is Colton's mom, i mean naming your son after a beer is crime enough :). The kid didn't really do anything detrimental. And i like that he is say of the publicity.

I don't care if this kid had a bad childhood. It doesn't give him the right to commit crimes. Let him raise a dog in prison for at least 10 years.

The system failed this guy for sure. It, along with his dysfunctional parents, helped put him on this path. Unfortunately, some societies have a silly way of "shooting itself" in its foot, by creating predators through their many failures. However, I believe a man has a right to exist without being a victim of any crime, but that is just me being idealistic. When a predator is caught, society pays (in housing him or her in a jail and feeding them e.t.c), and he or she should be held accountable for their actions. People who thirst for the drama may glamorize this barefoot bandit character and sensationalize his crime spree, but at the end of the day he is a criminal (sadly).

FLY, Colton, Fly

kinda sad tat he is not getting any money out of tis book!! give him royalties at the least! cos am sure the sale of tis book will be much more than the 1 million he owes to wat he stole from others....! wat bout his emotions caused by his mother n time spent in prison...isnt tat enuf?? give the guy back his life wen he's out for god's sake!!

and hope he did learnt his lesson.... and maybe could get his own plane if he gets the royalties....so i wonder wat will happen to the excess money from the sales of the book after he paid off his debts...? go the state?? hmmmm...
