i don't understand why the last surviving victim can't just i.d. him or his voice? I've learned from these episodes that detectives are just people with feelings and flaws like everyone else. They're not super human robot crime crime solvers with ice in their vanes. They have a job to do and they need their cases solved. I believe it's possible many detectives are capable catching who they think did it no matter what. Whether it's frustration, ego, lack of drive and initiative or just plain laziness and reputation. I know it sounds crazy but what's up with the lack of info on Ashton's involvement? And there's no way dude was gonna confess to that girls dad :/ sometimes people want answers so bad they manufacture what they believe

He is either the world's DUMBEST MOST STUPID serial killer EVER (killing someone next door anywhere he moves to, and leaving one shoe cover at the scene and hiding the other in the attics of his apt to be conveniently found), or someone is trying hard to frame him (at least in the case of the last 3 attacks). Whoever that someone might be, I bet he is some how connected to the first murder!

This story points out how important meticulous proper documentation is in crime scene analysis, since we now rely on science so much, the smallest oversight can make or break a case. DNA does not lie, but if not handled correctly it loses it's credibility.

Cook County really screwed up, for such a violent crime back then and they seemed to have viewed it too casually and the results were more victims, it's all very tragic. It's obvious that this guy is a true psycopath, he was manipulative and a homicidal maniac at a young age and then he continued his blood lust. This guy is really scarey, he is pure evil with no real emotions other than his absurd denials of guilt.
