Are monks living at Mt. Athos in northern Greece happier people than people in the outside world? Father Matthew certainly thinks so and explains why.

What a vivid reminder of the power inherent in the simple life of a Christian disciple as outlined in the gospels! The faces of the monks speak volumes of the joy that is found in pursuing Apostle Paul's starkly simple (but oh-so-challenging) admonition:"Pray without ceasing." Thanks,60 Minutes, for this inspiring journey!

For everyone who wants to understand more about the deepest essence of Christian Orthodox Spirituality I recomend the book "The Mountain of Silence: A Search for Orthodox Spirituality" written by Kyriacos C. Markides.

We must thank God for these monks that are doing what they can to help bring about the universal salvation. We too, as Christian Vegans do not use animal products and animal services for the sake of God's Kingdom. Pure Christianity demands that we regard all God's creatures as friends and not abuse them. Please read: The Lord Christ Jesus Was a Vegan & The Christian Vegan Revised Psalms by Saba for more information on Chrisitan Vegan ministry. God be our king forever. Amen.

Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV)

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Beautiful Words of God and beautiful testimony from the Orthodox Monk
