See all 327 CommentsI think Ryan Ferguson is innocent.
Chuck Erickson on the other hand, is his own worst enemy.
Who knows what Chuck Erickson is capable of?
Some phobias work in a similar way, as they involve OCD thoughts. Some people are convinced that they will murder someone if they don't do certain things. Some people, with the right environment, can convince themselves that they have done all sorts of things. It's more common than you would think, but most of the time the thought process revolves around something more benign, like a paranoid fear that you will kiss anyone you see. I've suffered from this, and I had convinced myself that I must have kissed everyone I had ever met. It's bizarre. If someone had agreed with me and told me it was true I would buy it and expound on it even though it is absolutely false. Chuck needs to talk to therapists to get to the root of the story. People's lives are on the line. Do we care about justice and the truth or do we only care about being perceived as right?
1. Heitholt had hair in his hand. If Boyd is a suspect, get a DNA sample from him and compare it to the hair.
2. The composite drawing based on the female janitor's information seems to look like Erickson.
3. One of the suspects at the crime said, "Somebody's hurt". Seems like a non-involved, more sympathetic Ryan would say such words after his "friend" Erickson committed the crime.
4. I don't know too many non-druggies who have druggie friends. If Erickson was high the night of the crime, what about Ryan?
5. There are people who tell the truth. There are liars. And there's Erickson. What a space cadet!
6. Of course Ryan's father is trying to free his son. Wouldn't most fathers act the same way if any doubt about a son's guilt existed? The difference--the Ferguson family gets a "48 Hours" show.
Chuck implemented Ryan, because the police told him the crime was not committed by him alone, so Chuck chose Ryan as the other person.
Everyone has to do their job well in order to keep their job, so placing someone in prison for a murder means that the detective have done their job.
I think the detective used Ryan to get a case closed.
Chuck needs help, because he is running from something, and wants to make sure he stays behind bars, or he might think he did a crime, because the police told him so much that lead him to believe he did the crime.
I think they should get Ryan out of prison, and deal with Chuck craziness, by getting him psychiatric help.
Other cases of the detective should be looked into, because he is not an honest detective.
