Great views of the Pantanal. Jaguars are also found in Northern Mexico and have been photographed crossing the Mexico-Arixona border.
A breeding population of Jaguars can be found about 130 miles southeast of the Chiricahua Mountains.

The Pantanal is indeed a sanctuary for jaguars and innumerable other forms of wildlife. But it's not a zoo, don't believe to those who guarantee sightings, it cannot be done in a honest way and respectful of nature. It is an extremely fragile ecosystem and is getting more and more explored by tourism. There is the Park area but it still lacks a management plan, so it's up to the conscience of the individual operators. I hope brazilian authorities will soon open their eyes on the risk of ruthless exploitation of the area, or else it won't last long. I just wonder why in this documentaries local people are never considered. They were the first to start observing the increase in jaguar population and not the foreign operators who fill their mouth with big words nowadays. They don't have the ability to communicate with international audiences in the same way and in time they who are the secret guardians of the Pantanal's secrets will be more and more relegated to work as second-hand boatmen, drivers, cooks, maids, etc. If this is the role of modern eco-tourism, well, definitely I don't like it.

We have known the serious fact demonstrated by a video posted on the social networks facebook and youtube where three policemen apparently graduates and for his accent native to the Atlantic Colombian coast where they keep tied a canine female who they proceed to kill with a spade to then be hung.

Being the Police the first hand of justice and has to be in permanent contact with people so helpless and innocent as it is this animal. In accordance with the animal protection law, having the national police force available ecological police, undermining the peace and moral as well as against good order and justice that the police force protects and preserves we urge to immediately initiate an investigation of the whereabouts of these pseudo-police officers and to be punished accordingly to the order established by this force.

Exert power over the society and the law grants them stain the name of the police and criminals and murderers are being capable of killing and shooting death of an innocent. These three individuals violate the ethical principles and police as the value, transparency, solidarity, respect, justice, discipline, honesty considered by the same police force as a prerequisite for admission to the institution and set out on page online of this force.

These cops should never be near children and vulnerable and should undergo a full psychiatric treatment because they are dangerous to society. The main requirement for police is providing security to all members of society with emphasis on smaller and insignificant, that is the sense of justice.

We claim that this criminal act not to remain unpunished. The FBI says it in his studies related to crime and serial murderers "The acts of cruelty and death to animals is a sign of psychotic behavior" As a society, as citizens we urge the leadership of the National police not to let this event at the impunity sanction and punishment for this atrocity and violence against a defenseless being noble.

The segment was beautiful and the work of Alan Rabinowitz and Panthera is to be applauded. One comment, you might have warned that we were going to be shown the horror of an animal being branded. What a cruelty; there are other ways to keep track of animals these days...

Congratulations to Panthera Foundation on its excellent conservation and research work on Jaguars in the north Pantanal of Brazil. As biologists who founded the SouthWild Jaguar Camp, (www.southwild.com), we are the immediate neighbors of PF's new ranch. With our unique, Jaguar scout boat system (in place since 2005), we show guests an average of 1.5 Jaguars per day and already have logged more than 1,200 daytime Jaguar sightings. Our camp, formerly known as "Jaguar Research Center", is the only operation in the world to offer travelers guaranteed views of wild Jaguars.

We applaud the Panthera Foundation for their pioneering work to develop new methods to guarantee a sustainable future for Jaguars in the Pantanal.

Not sure this segment caught the beauty and glamor of the animal. One thing is for certain, 60 Minutes needs younger journalists-these old guys don't look like they were made for that weather.
