John Gardner has admitted that he cannot control his rage. We now know that certain persons are born with oversensitivity in brain areas that control rage. Many years ago, it was discovered that you could produce "sham rage" in rats simply by stimulating certain parts of the brain. For someone like Gardner, this over-stimulation combined with probable weakness in the brain areas that inhibit impulses, produced a deadly combination. This problem in combination with early abuse or bullying can create the rage and impulsively of a "wild animal" as Gardner described himself. The right medications which work on brain chemicals combined with social skills training for dealing with difficult interpersonal situations can help this. While it is too late for Gardners victims it shows the importance of early diagnosis and treatment in preventing future Gardners. Jean Cirillo, Ph.D. Psychologist

Sadly, this is not a new story to me. I was involved in a murder investigation of my neighbor by a sexual predator like this one. He was also a serial killer by the name of Tomothy Krajcir. I wrote about this in my book, Hunted in the Heartland: A Memoir of Murder. Do I think people like this can be rehabilitated? I do not.

I think knowledge is power. The more you know these monsters exist and are out there the more you can protect your children. Who could think there are such terrible people out there. Socialpaths. I never heard of the word until a few years ago. But they are real. Teach your children never never never go with a stranger no matter what. Yell scream bite scratch anything but go with them. Gun no gun knife no knife do not ever go with a stranger. take the time to warn your children of the monsters not to scare them but to protect them. this show should have been watch by FAMILIES and explained to the children as a learning family discussion. hiding these monsters leave your children vulnerable.

Repeats are okay with me. Sometimes I miss episodes, then the repeats allow a first time view. Even seeing programs twice doesn't bother me. I catch some details I missed the first time. Keep going.

NEVER EVER GET IN THE CAR ! YOU GET IN THE CAR - YOU WILL DIE !Even if threatened with a gun you should run. Chances are they won't shoot and if they do they probably will miss. At worst you will be hit but they will take off and you will survive.

As a Escondido resident and a parent of two teenage girls that attend Escondido High School, we want to know how Gardner got away with Amber. Also I want to hear more about why our Escondido Police Department let Gardner go couple of time before Chelsea's death in Escondido. We need some answers.

Disgusting. This man's thoughts are completely irrelevant at this point. Badly done, CBS. Horrible choice. Won't watch again.
