I am a resident of Washington State. Although polls have indicated that a new state income tax is unpopular, Bill Gates, Sr has been pushing for this form of taxation for years. In an effort to open the door to a statewide income tax, Bill attempted to sweeten the pot by calling his new tax scheme a "tax break" for property and business owners. Thankfully, the people of Washington didn't buy it.

I am sick of seeing Bill's old mug on the tube telling us what's best for the state. He touts public education and public universities, yet his son attended an expensive private school through high school (Lakeside) and a private university (Harvard). In addition, his son, Bill Gates Jr., sends his children to private schools. Bill, why are the public institutions that you tout as great innovators not good enough for your children and grandchildren?

Please Bill, do the people of Washington state a favor and stop trying to push your misguided agenda on us. Your cash and persona were not enough to hoodwink voters into supporting a state income tax. You lost in every county in the state, even in left-leaning King County. You and your views have become irrelevant in the state of Washington....so do us all a favor and find something else to do with your time.
