CARTER ? A disgrace to America. Taking money from the ARABS for his "center" - selling books by the truck load to ARABS as CASH to him so that he will speak out for their murderous methods. Please CBS why are you aiding this truly terrible selfish person ?

I am always surprised at how politicians refer to this country as a christian nation, but consider acting as a christian weak. Love one another as I have loved you. Jimmy Carter has truly lead by example.

Dignity,
If you let any prejudice over past accomplishments or perceptions of events, you have to be impressed by this man. He did deserve his presidency and a second term. He is so together, so intelligent. so directed. He has shown without doubt the character of this president. He is a true leader and someone who has led his life for the good of others. That is I believe the basis of democracy.

I think that many that judge President Carter as the worst president didn't really know him. He is a close as we may see of Mr. Smith goes to Washington. He wasn't polished like a Reagan and he wasn't a politician. He was a man with strong core values and he wasn't going to give up his beliefs just to satisfy the other politicians. I will always deeply repect him. Also during my time in college he also became known as the education president as he passed one of the many bills of his administration that made more of us in the lower middle class eligible for finanacial aid. It eased the burden of a college education. For that I am mighty thankful!

while some might not think he was a good president, I do and still do and he get did the hostages released but out of pettiness of others, their actual physical release wasn't until Carter had left office and this was done out of spite. In terms of what he was done and achieved since being out of office, few former president can or could stand up to his measure and come away better. I do honestly believe that in the future he will be consider one of the better presidents-not the greatest but not as bad as he is being painted on here.

Jimmy Carter is a war monger and a supporter of radical islamic terrorism. Mr. Carter removed a secular, peaceful, and democratic King of Iran and replaced him in 1979 with a radical islamic cleric, Sir Ayatollah Khomeini, who not only massacred patriotic secular Iranians but totally terrorized the middle east and women. Mr. Carter turned the middle east into a Guantenamo, a prison for women, a haven for radical islamic terrorism. Thank you, Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter has forced millions of people of middle east to lose their home and country. Mr. Carter thanks for installing Khomeini and his criminals in Iran. The legacy of Mr. Carter is the Islamic Republic of Iran and its criminals. Mr. Carter and his administration should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity.

Jimmy Carter supported radical islamic terrorist, Sir Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979. Jimmy Carter championed religious war in the middle east when he removed a secular, democratic King of Iran and replaced him with Sir Ayatollah Khomeini who came in with his butchers and assassinated over 100,000 Iranian patriots in the first year of the revolution. What a hypocrite to sit here and say he was blackmailed? He blackmailed the King of Iran. Jimmy carter is the worst president in modern history. His legacy: fuel radical islamic terrorism in middle east. thanks a bunch.

I'm not really into politics but his book actually sounds interesting. I do not know too much about Carter, maybe I'll look into his book. He seems cool.

It was so disappointing to hear Jimmy Carter lie and claim he got the hostages released. I assume he thinks most of us don't remember. And yes, he is the worst president of my lifetime. I uses to think he was an least a good EX-president. After he admitted he turned against the US and tried to get the UN to block the US in Desert Storm, I realized he a lousy EX president. too.

The piece did lean a little on the anti-Mr. Carter side. I think he may be a bit strident and that comes through in the interview; put another way he likes international peace, but seems to have issues making peace with American politicians. Ted Kennedy is dead I think it's unfair to place blame on him now. That aside, Mr. Carter is unpopular simply because he espouses some ideals that many Americans don't share with him (Team America?); President Obama is facing the same issue. We want change, but maybe we don't? The Goldilocks effect. Maybe Carter would have had greater success in Europe. I wish him well regardless...who wants to be hated when they're 85? Let it go...
