Ok, to all those who want to make this a color issue answer this. Where in America do you have whites being targeted by KKK, skinheads and the likes on such a scale. Where are they being overlooked for their color on such a large scale in America. We need to find a balance people not point fingers. Hate only breeds more hate and fear. Look up statistics before pointing fingers or injustice. Fact is that yes, it should be available to everyone. Being that there were white people in the crowd, it seems that they were there for what was important, STUDENTS getting a chance. Don't act like racial profiling does not still exist against blacks and other races. We may all want to act politically correct but we still act differently behind closed doors, FACT! Better yet forget statistics and start thinking about humanity, you know, that thing without a race.

justice_1965 aka Benton: @ mitteld Sept, 2, 2010 11:16 PM EDT; If the president give such to one school, he would have to do the same for all schools within the USA, when some school in certain States having to make individual loans from the banks in their area and students having to take
personal items for the bathrooms, to eat lunch on. So it's nice to see students earning good grades and all, but, went I was in school, we did not have one third the things they have now in school. I feel that no one should have to pay or buy these students nowdays, they should be happy of themselves, they will someday be our leaders, so why shouldn't they prepare themselves now. I have a niece who went to college andgrad with a 4.0 GPA, with only a mother. Now she teaching and doing great. So, they can do it if they want to!

Regarding the Seed School publicized on 60 Minutes there was a noticeable lack of any other race besides African Americans. Surely there are disadvantaged White,Hispanic and other races living in DC. Also there was not one white teacher in attendance(none were interviewed). The government funds this school but apparently they wish to keep a blind eye to the lack of equality when African Americans reap the benefits of government funding. While there is a need for schools of this nature(a very good idea) lets be fair about attendance and opportunities for all underprivileged children.

If all those people on screen were funded for further education, there wouldn't have been that much of Americans willing to risk their lifes in Iraq and Afghanistan for earning their college tuition fee.

And I believe that it is not the matter of how much can US get from these potential taxpayers; Interest groups' benefits do matter.

Since this school is so successful why doesn't Congress and or the Whitehouse provide funding for such schools throughout D.C.? That would seem certain to develop taxpayers instead of failed students.
