The USDA website states, "We need to improve protocols for internal communications at the department, and create a set of safeguards to avoid the sort of hasty action which led to the mishandling of the matter with Mrs. Sherrod." Ok?why is it that individuals most notably white, cannot bear to bring themselves to use the words "discrimination" and "racism"? Folks, it is what it is, so let's call it what it is! All I want to know is what is the matter with this picture, where is the common sense? I am white, and I will never know how it feels to live with such hatred because of the color of my skin. I have and continue to educate myself historically on institutional racism and examining my own personal biases etc.

Do you realize it has ONLY been 46 years since Black Americans could attempt to vote in peace in this country without the a absurdity of Black Americans taking pre-voting screening tests, or fear of losing their lives by even going to a polling place to vote? 46 years that is all it has been and many of you are of the belief that Black Americans should ?get over it? and that there is no such thing as ?white privilege?? Have you stop to listen to white high school kids and how they refer to Blacks or read some of the adult comments left on the news blogs? What do you mean the story is over get on with it; this is just a continuation of a series of non-fictional stories folks. 15 minutes of fame??? Public hatred and humiliation is now equated with fame, are you joking? I cannot believe the things that I hear and read in regards to outright human injustices! I would bet that if it were you, that were subjected to broad base target practice, you would be the FIRST ones to scream foul!

We can and have put into place all kinds of protocols and implement numerous strategies to address the issues of discriminatory practices, and how we view different racial and ethnic populations, however; little will be accomplished without the main ingredient of factual knowledge. I think all of us need to ?get ON with it?, stop talking about ?it? and start educating the mass population beginning in schools, organizations, non-profits, government agencies and in church settings. Thank God I work for an agency willing to go beyond surface talking and actually begin doing! Every organization should be inspired to become leaders and assess the racial/ethnic/gender/sexual orientation disparities within their respective systems. To build upon their internal and community based assets and strengthen their deficits.

Americans of all races and ethnic groups need to collectively get over yourselves people, grow-up and get a clue? EVERYONE has biases including me! Everyone has been at one time or another, materialistic, greedy, narcissistic, pessimistic, mean spirited, and so on. Maybe if we begin with re-setting our building blocks, we can set into motion the building of a better America, maybe America can start to work for all of us but we have got to actually start DOING something about it, that will take much longer than 15 minutes!

What an odd summary quote "Sherrod sees things through racial prism"... Very odd summary. Almost as if they took the most possibly negative comment about Sherrod from the interview and placed it as the title, knowing most people won't watch the 21 minute video, to keep up the story about Breitbart targeting Sherrod as racist. Very odd.

Actually, I liked Bill's interview. What should Bill have done? Hook electrodes to his you know what's. The one important question that showed how most journalists get caught in their own stupidity was when Bill asked why Breitbart did not confirm the story. Breitbart's answer was the "news cycle", yep that good old rush to get what seems to be a great story on prime time air but after checking the other parts will make you the story.

Kelli, what state is Ohiawa?

Breitbart is only able to speak on how he sees everything. He is not able to know another person?s mind. Ms. Sherrod has lived many years and he is not very intelligence to judge her based on a sound bite. He knows that the video would have more weight than the written word. People would see it first. His written word is a caption, small print in comparison to the video. By his own admission he wanted retribution for the Tea Party being called racist. That speaks to the deliberance of his piece, it was about race, he saw race.

Any thought of race by African Americans is because we are confronted with it every day because of the thoughts of others. Left to ourselves, race does not enter.

He is tryig to save himself from a lawsuit.

The Democratic Party and Repubican Party are attacked on a regular basis. They do not stoop this low. He takes away so much from the Tea Party members that are about the issues and not vengeance.

I trust Breitbart more than Ms Sherrod. How do we know how many white people Sherry Sherrod turned down or refused to help before she had a awakening. She thought that the white farmer thought HE was better than her. How can we verify that the white farmer that gave his statement is the one she was referring to. How convenient that someone was able to produce a video of the farmer so soon. No way should she get her job back. I think she is still a racists.

This type of thinking is what is bring the United States down. Utterly without logic, thought of any kind, and reading about what went on. This person does not even realize that she was explaining how one time she did this and how she became a better person. She had enough good character to talk about it. This poster would rather that she keep it to herself rather then make a teachable moment.

I find it a scandal that CBS gives the man a podium for letting him blame his victim. He targeted a woman who consciously overcame well-founded feelings against white people, pretending she had not overcome them. Clearly he wants to stir racist trouble, and the only way to deal with these people is not to publish them.

Let's see, a white right wing shill goes after a black woman and tries to ruin her career and her life, with the help of a right wing "news organisation", and the problem is that black people and the White House are too racist.

Black is White. War is Peace. Republicans are the true liberals.

Not.

Wouldn't it be great if the people claiming there isn't any racism against minorities, namely blacks, in this country could be stuck in a black person's skin for about a month. Sixty years ago blacks were routinely being harassed, beaten and even murdered by whites and, in many states, little was done. What are conservatives conservative about? Certainly not in their hatred. I was raised a Republican and am now 56 years old. About 10 years ago I realized this party wasn't about fiscal responsibility but instead wanted to pander to all the idiots who deny logical science, practice racism and don't want to pay any taxes. And you've got Rush and his ilk doing the same thing the Nazis did 80 years ago ? keep telling lies and exaggerations until idiots start believing it. Don't ruin the United States. Stop the hate. Please.

I'm sick and tired of these FILTHY racism allegations being throw around by both liberals and conservatives. If you don't agree with Obama, or if you support conservative ideas, you are branded a racist. This is a new form of McCarthyism. The journolist story shows how the media is trying to influence politics much as did when it kept portraying Gerald Ford as a stumblebum-- and incompetent by implication-- to boost the candidacy of Carter, who turned out to be poster boy for incompetence. is an awful thing to accuse o
