For exercise, I would suggest "Xrun" app (search for it in iTunes). It is really simple, which makes it much more likely that you will actually use it.

You don't need an App to lose weight with your iPhone. Just try running around looking for decent AT&T service, voice or data. You'll wind up looking like a world class long distance runner!

The segment on Lose It was spot on - it is simple & easy to use. You can't get bogged down in every detail of every meal or exercise or you may get frustrated. It takes what we all should know - less net calories in per day than you need to maintain will result in weight loss. It is not a diet! I have been using it since 2/09 and it has been the easiest loss of 45 lbs. I have not denied myself any foods that I like but I eat less and better because of Lose It. I use an iPod Touch - if you don't have one it is the best investment of $200 and it will change your life.

Dr. Jennifer, Just wanted to let you know of another fabulous app, called Calorie Counter by Fat Secret (www.fatsecret.com). One of the nice things about this app is it runs on Iphone/Touch, Blackberry, AND Android. The Android and Iphone versions actually allow you barcode scan in your food as well as manually. Great app. :)

I decided I don't really require an I-Phone to get my work done, and I probably don't need and "app" just to trim my waistline. If a food is processed, has lots of carbohydrates, sugars, starches or a long ingredients list I just don't eat it. I know; I probably sound a bit like Andy Rooney -- but we are probably both near the same age.

Great feature on healthy iPhone apps there - I'm using the My Fitness instructor app from British Military Fitness, and I think it's awesome - I've already shed 23 pounds in five weeks!
