Comics are great for kids since they are easy to read and more quickly read than a book. Most books use too many words and few pictures. So, kids grow up bored by books, and thus they are forced to believe propaganda. An example is the idea that carbon dioxide can cause climate change. In fact, carbon dioxide is totally transparent to infrared except at 15 microns; so CO2 is totally "black" at 15 microns. "Black" cannot be more "black", and so more CO2 cannot make Earth any warmer. We need more comics so that our kids do not become bored, ignorant adults.

Hi Andy:
I've watched you for Many, many years.
There is an e-mail going around that starts as follows...

CBS DIDN'T STOP HIM- THIS IS GREAT
-
Good for him!!!

Surprised CBS let him get away with this, even though he's
right!

Andy
Rooney said on '60 Minutes' a few weeks back:

'I don't think being a minority
makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The
only things I can think of that are truly
discriminatory are things like the United Negro
College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment
Television, and Miss Black America.. Try to have
things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud
Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss
White America ; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson
will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I
think killing makes you a killer. You can kill
someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is
trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

etc. etc.

Is this an accurate prestation?
I can send the entire script if you wish.
But i certainly seem to remember some of the lines ....
Please let me know! Our class forum is discussing it.

Oh, and it's inimical, or hostile to the nature of something. Like, "I'm inimical to eating worms."

I well remember the 'funny papers'. One of my favorite comic artists (Bill Watterson of 'Calvin and Hobbes' finally gave in to the fact that newspapers were giving comics such postage stamp sized spaces that he quit publishing in the newspaper altogether and concentrated on books of collected strips and putting them on big pages, often in glorious color. Now THATS the funnies.

Andy, what is the word you used, i.e. "editors don't take to humor, humor is ???enninimical...innimical.. to an editor's nature?" I can't spell it, can't find it in Webster, I never heard it before.
