I was a nurse at St. Louis University Hospital for a lot of years and we had
patients as this gentleman on VADs and even a lady with a Jarvik. Yes, they
had to "live" at the Hospital for more days than you can count sometimes.

I have a suggestion and I'm surprised someone hasn't come up with this....IF
you need to go back for however long to the Hospital, why can't a video cam
be hooked up at home to a laptop at the Hospital for you? I would think this
could easily be done....if you would want it and if your family would want it.

As I sat in a doctor's office today, gazing at charts of the digestive and circulatory systems, I was struck by how we are really just a series of tubes, glands, pumps, and filters, any of which can go wrong. It is not correct to say this man has no heart, he simply has one not made of flesh, and if it does the job, peace be upon him. "Heart" is of the mind, and I'd say this guy has plenty of heart.
