I have worked on Gas, Diesel,Natural Gas, and Propane engines all My life,(45) years, and I don't believe that ANY Engine could runaway with itself from an "Auxiliary" fuel source like Methane from a gas or Oil well, the Concentration of Methane Needed to Operate a Diesel would be so High a Human couldn't breathe and would soon suffocate , concentration of Methane would be Higher than the 15% necessary for the Upper limit of Flammability for Methane, I just don't believe this guys Story for one minute, his recollection of what happened is flawed in my books, I spent 2 Years "Fumigating" Diesel Locomotive engines at the Department of Transportation Test Center in Colorado and Tests with running a Diesel on Vapors the Governor could always control speeds, under any and all loads.
