See all 44 Comments1. What happens to all the waste cleaned up on the shores? All that oil/sand collected in bags, etc. Where does it go? Can it be recycled? If not, what happens to it?
2. What is the result of all that oil burn-off? Does it go into the atmosphere the same as car exhaust, for example? What is the magnitude of the damage if it does?

I hope this will be read since the White House and BP will not even consider this solution to the Gulf oil spill. I have been rejected by BP saying that I am not an Engineer and just ignored by the White House. I have tested my solution and know that it does work.
This solution is to inject liquid nitrogen 40 feet into the well. This will slow the oil enough to place a pressure control valve that will be able to capture the oil for refining. The other option is to fill the well pipe with concrete to create a plug that will seal the well.
I would like to talk to someone that will listen.
I just became a member of your website and appreciate the CBS Team helping answer our questions.
I live in Kapolei, Hawaii. The water is a way of life here for many and brings many people here. The thought of an oil spill here is unbearable.
Two questions.
1.) What definitive actions will our govenment take to make our deep water oil drilling safe?
2.) What concrete plans will our goverment make to contain and clean oil spills in the future?
Thank you for your time Katie.

After seeing you on Letterman tonight, I have confirmed my suspicions of a subtle bias in your anchor news commentary against the Obama administration and a slightly obvious journalistic favor for the previous administration. You state that the gulf disaster appears disorganized and out of control and suggested that maybe the NG should be running the cleanup rather than BP. The NG doesn't have the competencies to run deep water drilling equipment, so what do you suggest, hold a gun to BP personnels' heads? Yes, BP has screwed up and guilty of no risk management - but which administration let them drill baby drill? This is yet another Bush legacy that Obama is left to clean up. Your skirt is showing.
Thank you,
Ron Marston
