The editors of Time Magazine fail to admit that they are losing readers because it has developed a liberal bias over the past few years and is no longer considered a legitimate news magazine by fiscal conservatives or those of us who do not embrace extensive federal government intervention in our lives. They keep thinking it is due to people getting their news from the Web. I simply cancelled my subscription of Time last year and ordered a subscription to The Week.

The interview was a good one. The most interesting part is her apparent unconcern about the rate of change of technology. Will there be print magazines in 20 years? We really need a filter for all the information we are constantly bombarded with everyday in the media. We need an excellent team of journalists with an excellent support teams of historians, analysts, and researchers to filter out the wheat from the chaff and give us the big picture. What does the average person need to know or learn from a story? This is why the medium may change with electronic technology and the Internet but the need for excellent analytical writing that concisely tells us the big picture framework is more essential now than ever in a 24-7 news cycle. I think Mrs. Gibbs is correct in her thinking the magazines like Time are not going to vanish they will change overtime but the need for them will not.

These interviews have been great, Katie ! I enjoyed this one with Nancy Gibbs, too!
And thanks to your sponsor Dove as well! I always use Dove products now. It's just a wild guess, but my guess is that your favorite is the Fresh Burst Beauty Bar with the nectarine and white ginger scent, made with hydrating lotion...They say nothing beats the luscious scent of nectarine and white ginger.
Are they right?

Too cotton-picking long, first 10-15 minutes were interesting, then it became an infomercial, too bad, since I enjoy Katie in CBS.

You are most certainly overparenting when you go to the point of getting a patent on your children!! Octomom was also an example of overparenting..or at least of being overbearing...if you have more than one partridge in your pear tree you may also be overpearenting... and if you have more than 2 pairs of twins you are overpairenting but you aren't even close to the Russian woman who had 169 children that definitely is overparenting...
