Dear Mr. Simon,

I watched with interest your story on the Armenian Genocide. Unfortunately, there was a problem with some of the evidence that you were shown. Many (perhaps all) of the bones that were handed to you at the Armenian mass grave site were not human. I have reviewed the video clip on 60minutes.com and, am convinced of this. As qualifications, I hold a doctoral in Anthropology, with a specialty in human osteology. Also, I wrote the first textbook on forensic anthropology "Introduction to Forensic Anthropology: A Textbook", which describes the basic methods of the discipline that would be of most use in researching this event. Please understand that I am not saying that the genocide did not occur, just that many of the bones you saw were not human.

If you need consultation on similar endeavors in the future, I recommend contacting any of the forensic anthropologists on the http://www.theabfa.org/ webpage. Thank you for your time.

What a great piece of reporting, and a long overdue exposure to a HUGE issue. What a shameful response by the Turkish government.! Am a wrong or did the response sound threatening to the Patriarch???

Please do a follow up piece in the future...
