Robert Ballard is not just a shipwreck explorer, he is also a scientist who has made some incredible discoveries thousands of feet below the surface.

I rather feel like Andy Rooney, as my comments always seem to be negative. As a educator, I often use your reports as material for writing assignments for my high school students. I realize that you must have sponsors, but why must you place that poorly written, poorly produced viagra piece at the beginning of each video!!!!!!

I remember seeing the news of the discovery of the the Titanic and the great photos. One that stands out apart from the incredible photos of the wreck was of a pair of ladies shoes. I thought way back then why are the shoes still there? Ater watching tonights program....I am asking again...Why the shoes?

In an age where our children the USA is being left behind by other countries in the world of Science, Bob Ballard has put his stake in the ground, thrown down his gauntlet and has shown every man woman and child that science can be fun, can be rewarding, can be simply fantastic. To boldly go where no one has gone before. Three cheers for Bob Ballard.

It is a MONUMENTAL DISCOVERY. It was made in the seventies, it would have been nice if CBS had presented Ballard's discoveries in the correct timeline. Actually, the hot vent tubeworm discovery is s shared discovery, not his alone.

I can never tell the difference between a British accent and an Australian accent, but I like them both. I use a British voice in my GPS.

Is Mr. Ballard's ship charting the Pacific Ocean floor west of my island of Oahu actually searching for Amelia Earhart's plane to solve one of the greatest mysteries and tragedies of American aviation history?

After seeing the recent movie about her, I called the Amelia Earhart museum and was told that efforts are underway to get funding, etc to do just that.

It would be another monumental discovery that can close this chapter of our history. I hope Mr. Ballard can find her plane and bring it home to land. If any human remains are left ( bones ), they could be given a decent burial and bring closure to her family.
