This episode wasn't that great, kind of annoying and lacked suspense. Lame.

One thing that was never mentioned in the episode: were these kids left alone in the house unsupervised? I don't remember any adult saying anything about calling police, running for help. If so, with an open window in the middle of nowhere, that's disgraceful. I remember the mother had to be called about life-support, why wasn't she home, and with children in the house, why weren't charged filed for negligence - unless Katie was old enough to babysit? I know it doesn't matter now, and I'm so moved by Krystal's example, I want the best for her and her family, but I think the issue should have been addressed for people who think it is okay to leave children unattended, or without proper locks on the windows and doors. This story is about two crimes, one involving murder, but also the issue of addiction and neglect.

This production truly is one of the best I have ever seen on TV news. Cinematographer did an outstanding job of capturing images that drew us into this story. Kudos to the editors too... Magnificent piece. The music was excellent, interviews well shot, sound excellent. Brilliant production CBS!

Harold Dow... thank you for this amazing story. Rest in peace.

Krystal - your strength and courage astounds me. May God continue to protect and bless you and your family.
