I saw the film last night (it came to Milwaukee on 11/20/09 I think) and it was incredible. Lee Daniels totally captured the mental state of mind of someone who had been abused (the whole memory-jumping thing)

I'm so happy that African American actors really had a chance to play a role of SUBSTANCE, and I'm so happy to see SO MANY white women come to see the story as well. I almost appreciated them for coming out to hear a story of what happens so much in my society.

I can't wait to read the book now..Thanks Sapphire and Lee Daniels.

Katie, your interviewing skills are not worth near what they are paying you.

Katie, this interview left me wanting more? Precious was released about a week ago but only in certain geographic areas. I live in Guam and sadly it did not come to the island. Initially I was upset by this but realized that it takes a special type of person to truly understand and empathize with another person's cituation, without stereo typing every person that share similar characteristics and or circumstances. Since I cannot view the movie my friend suggested that I read the book "Push", while seaching the title I came across your interview. Thank you, Katie. Now I am in search of the book on the tiny island, wish me luck.

I want to thank you Katherine (Katie). Interviewing the writer of ?Push?, aka Sapphire gives the writer and the movie validation that African Americans have been looking for in Hollywood. Abuse of any kind is tragic in any family. I know in my community on Friday, November 6, 2009, the African American community will sell out in your hometown.

Maybe now social issues that happen in African Americans cultures be developed not to exploit African Americans, but raise consciences of those and bring change that is needed to help Black communities.
