I already made a comment above, but I left another thing out. She was really the only one with means, motive and opportunity. In a random crime, I believe the person would of at least have taken the good amount of cash that was in the victims pocket and the woman's purse.According to her children she would always go to her husbands house and go through his things. This was nothing unusual. As I said above. The trip she made to jump on the trampoline in the middle of the night was her dry run. What evidence did they really have on Scott Peterson? This man also kept a daily planner and wrote down all the stunts she had pulled in the past. This certainly would be allowed into evidence along with his brother in-laws statement that he'll probably be dead after she finds out he was remarrying.

She did contradict herself in her alibi. She told the police she was at home all night long after going to the mountains. Her daughter has her on tape saying that she spent the night at the mountains. Then she told the police she went north when she left the mountains. That means she would have to have passed through that check point that records all cars license plates. I think it is funny too that she tells the police about buying all these irrelevant items, but left the gas cans out. It would be very easy for her to stop anywhere along the way home. Even a rest stop. This was in the middle of the night. Had to be between 2AM and 5AM.There is not a whole lot of traffic at that hour in the morning. For all we know she could have driven straight to the mountains and perhaps burned the clothes she was wearing. They could have had gun residue left on them from firing a firearm. The gun was probably thrown in the water as the police said or buried somewhere in the mountains. This woman seemed very cold and calculating. Why she would do the things she did to her own children's father is beyond me. Those kids should be able to get new identities. That way they could move and not have to worry about looking over their shoulders for the rest of their lives.I think the police have chipped away at her alibi and even though their case is more circumstantial. I believe they have enough eye witnesses to her past actions and her false statements made to police.I also believe her ex-husband called the police after her trampoline incident. Who would drive 500 miles and jump on someone trampoline in the middle of the night. I bet that was her test run. To see how long it would take her to get there at that hour of night and then back home. She could also check her gas mileage and calculate exactly what she needed.I think the police should go ahead and charge her.You also mentioned her getaway car. Why no one saw it. I live in a residential neighborhood too.If someone parked out on the street at that hour of night I would never notice. If I did see one I wouldn't even take note b/c I would just think it was someone visiting. She probably parked a street over, behind or even past their house. I wish all the best to all their children and relatives. The heartache of not having any type of closure for these 2 families must be heart wrenching. Not to mention this nut is still out walking free in our society. To bad she didn't crash and burn with that gas in her car.I'm a strong believer in karma. She will get what is coming to her sooner or later.I just hope no one else becomes another victim b/f then.

Well said! To destroy evidence that might have led to the killer or to overlook bagging something really vital compromised the whole investigation. There are four kids and many family members that need to have some resolution. I remember them saying chewing gum was taken in. I wonder if a saliva test can be done and they must have picked up cigarette butts around the area. If they can place Dana at that house-she'll be hard pressed to fight the DNA results.

This is one of the saddest and heartbreaking stories. These kids lose their father and their mother. The mother who is accused has never even shown one shred of emotion for their murders! She is a horrible person who knows exactly what happened that night and I hope for the sake of the family that justice is found.

I think the Topeka Police Department needs to permanently hire the CBS staff! I have grown up in Topeka and heard repeated stories of how the Topeka Police have done a poor job in one way or another. It's assuring to know that the new DA is looking at case again, but it's just sad that it required the assistance of CBS to cause this kind of action! A BIG Thanks should be sent to CBS for even giving this heart-broken family a second chance at bringing justice to "most likely" suspect who received the least amount of questioning. Tnx CBS!
