I am sorry that Luke had the H1N1, but my 6 year old grand daughter Abby Bush, was in worse shape than Luke was. Abby went into the childrens Hospital in Pittsburgh on Oct 15, 2009, had bacterial pneumonia in both lungs, and both lungs colapsed, she went into kidney and respiratory failure soon after arriving in the hospital, it wasn't until Nov 1 that we even seen a sign of improvement. For 3 1/2 weeks she was fighting for her life. Now she is starting to improve slowly, but she can not walk of talk, or sit up, she is the same as a baby. She will have to learn everything over again. Luke seems fine now, but 6 yr old Abby Bush was sent to a Rehab Center in Pittsburgh, and she in on methadone right now, because of the morphine they had her on, and she is having bad withdraw symptons. Her speech was gone, and she lost her memory. They story 60 minutes did should have been on Abby Bush, cause she is the 6 year old cheerleader, who has a long road ahead of her, she isn't up walking around because she can't walk. The medical insurance the family has will never cover the cost of these medical bills, that are coming in. I the grandmother tried some fund raising in this small town of Windber, Pa and people in this town are mostly unemployed. So there is very little funds coming in. I see Lukes web page is asking for donations. Which upsets me, cause nobdy cares about Abby Bush form Windber, Pa. I sure don't see no big donations coming in either.
I ask our local TV station to do something to help Abby raise some money and they would not do it. But I did get a article put in the Johnstown, Pa Tribune- Democrat,on Oct 31, 2009 which helped some but not much to mention. CBS needs to go to the Childrens Institute in Pittsburgh, and see what this virus can do to a small once healthy child. If you would like to donate to Abby it can be sent to :
Benefit of Abby Bush Fund - % First National Bank- 415 Park Place- Windber, Pa 15963
Please - someone help us - the cost of getting Abby back to normal is going to be overwhelming, the helicopter to Pittsburgh is about $13,000 and 4 ambulance trips at $900.00 each, and the insurance will not cover that. 19 days in ICU, I am sure that will be a big--- expense.I thank anyone out there that can help.

Abby Bush age 6, with the H1N1, been in the hopsital since Oct 15, fighting for for life, Now the bills or starting to roll in and it is going to financially destroy Abby's family. The Insurance they have covers 80%, and does not cover the ambulance ( which she had 4 trips) and will not cover the helicopter ride to Pittsburgh Childrens Hospital, from Johnstown, Pa. I set up a fund for Abby Bush at the First National Bank in Windber, Pa. 15963 . But because of the ecomony, we haven't gotten many donations. I would like to know if anyone would how we could come up with more donations. We might have to take Abby out of the Rehab Center, before she is done with her treatments, because of the costs of the medical bills. So please can anyone help this family figure out a way to pay for these medical bills, I want to see my Abby walk and smile again. My email address is debstufft@aol.com - Please help!!

My son got the flu a few months ago and they would not test for H1N1. I was told H1N1 has been confirmed in my area and the CDC would not test for it. Same thing in happened in the suburbs of Atlanta to someone I know. How can we prevent the spread of H1N1 if it won't be confirmed until you are in the hospital?

I am surprised at the way we all search for drugs as the quick way to solve our immune problems, Colostrum kills bacteria on contact and in reseach in has proven three times more effective than a flu shot, I am involved in many situations where we use bovine Colostrum and it's compounds to enhance Adult Stem Cell release into the blood stream, yes very much breaking news and I am not promoting any cure, it does address the symptoms and has had dramatic beneficial results in many cases. It does warrant further genuine research and will confirm the natural benfits without the 3 billion dollar price tag. I am able to table research to back up these claims. For those that are looking for help, bring these points up with a doctor that understands Bovine Colostrum and is prepared to monotor its use. My heart felt prayers go out the those in critical condition and to their families

I AM A NURSE AND A FARMER'S WIFE. I APPRECIATE THOSE OF YOU WHO STATE "H1N1" AND DO NOT USE THE WORD "SWINE". OUR PORK INDUSTRY HAS SUFFERED GREATLY. YOU CANNOT GET H1N1 FROM EATING PORK. PLEASE DO NOT USE THE
"S" WORD. CBS HAS DONE AN EXCEPTIONAL JOB IN USING H1N1. IF ONLY THE OTHER NETWORKS AND NEWS AGENCIES WOULD FOLLOW SUIT.

I must say after seeing this I am more concerned. The doctors are very laid back about this H1N1. My 5yr old daughter was diagnosed with H1N1 and my 10yr old son was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia, saying he probably already had the H1N1. I noticed that the two combined are extremely dangerous. My concern now is if one of my kids gets both, or even myself. I have been just as sick as them. I was not concerned at all before feeling like it?s just like a regular flu, which is also what all the doctors say. The doctors are also no longer even testing. Unless you?re at high risk or like myself asked for the test, because the doctor already said my kids had the H1N1. I wanted it confirmed not just a guess. I?m just concerned because the two are always together. It takes forever to get a call back from the doctor?s office for an answer. Mainly because they are so busy. Yesterday they said they had 50 H1N1 cases walk threw the door.

Personally I do not see how this was an add for the vaccine like some other comments. I would still not get the vaccine yet.

I would also like to give my prayers to Luke?s Family and all the other families out there going through this.

I am getting over the swine flu I was sick for a month and hospitalized for two days, I am 57 years old and I have never had the flu ever since my recovery from this sickness I am more careful when around other people, their children and being in crowds, It dawned on me that people were dying from this after the fact, but this has made me very conscience of my habits

I am thinking about not having my 7 year old son get the H1N1 vaccine because it has not been approved by the FDA yet and I am concerned about the possible side effects that noone is talking about.

Such a pity that we can't get a straight answer from anyone. I have been following this virus for a while and there is so much conflicting information that I have no idea what to think. What exactly is the agenda here?
