government is into all of our lives in everything we do.. the supreme court has just about destroyed the "Bill Of Rights". I personally feel like the freedoms I had in the 1950s for the most part no longer exist.. the government can now take your property without a trial and give it to someone else. property my be seized without a crime being proved.. the courts have continued to disregard our rights.. one case here a young man was charged with a crime. he appeared in court, he had no full time job, and the judge refused to appoint an attorney, stating that "I am not going to give you an attorney at the expense of the taxpayers of this county. and he tried to get an attorney the cheapest he could find was 300 dollars... the judge ordered him to appear in 2 weeks to stand trial..he could not get a copy of the charges against him or who was charging him..the local county attorney said . "you are the defendant we don't help the defendant do anything"

Your interviews and this weekly online show are amazing. I have watched and enjoyed all of them. You don't rely on fawning. Just straight talk. So down to earth.

Five words - "I connected with this interview". Thank you for doing the interview with Frank Luntz and together with him giving me some of the answers to "why" things are the way they are. I learned a lot from the interview and appreciate you guys making the effort to be open and honest. JP in Salt Lake City.

What you see from CBS now. Out of four of these videos (I'm going to be polite here and not mention the words far right wing psycho), two are hard right republicans, one is the media, and one is entertainment. And by the way, the skirt you wore for the Luntz interview negated any attempts at journalism.

I've stopped watching the Early Show. Harry K. Smith is hard right and it is reflected in his show and his views. That appears to be moving to the Evening News as well. I may have to start getting my news from the internet.

Katie
As someone who went to the Washington march on 9/12, I would like to do one of these interviews with you. As a bonus, I will show you how CBS News could become #1 in ratings. This would NOT involve being like FOX News.

I will be as civil as you are. I welcome questions about who and why people that have NEVER imagined marching in protest did and will again. Ask me about the President's birth certificate. Ask me about the Stimulus Bill, the Omnibus Spending Bill, the Global climate, Alternate energy, tax changes, Afghanistan.

Ask me how we can be angry with both the Republican & Democratic parties. Ask why we are angry at Congress, the Administration and the Media.

The most important thing is, ask me what I would suggest we do to:

a) close the growing ideological divide
b) begin to restore confidence in Govt
c) build a trust in the media by ALL of the public

I think you might be surprised if you take me up on my offer.

WOW! I just realized that CBS has changed the posting order back the way it was before. The last posts are at the beginning again! Let's hope that they have fixed all the other problems too.

When Katie was saying how the comments from people were so nasty and vicious, I thought, "HOW TRUE"! That is the first thing I thought when I first started posting comments here, over 2 years ago. It's actually unbelievable. It's shocking. I don't see that in my country.

The United States is completely divided, and I don't see any hope at all of it ever becoming united. It's too late. There is just way too much hatred and viciousness.

And I noticed this BEFORE Obama. It wouldn't matter who was president, the hatred will always be there and people are passing it on to their children.

Also, Luntz was saying that people are afraid of losing control of making decisions. You lost that control a long time ago. Your only hope of getting it back is OBAMA.

You need to start voicing your opinions in a CIVILIZED manner. The first thing on your agenda should be to make sure that you have more than two parties to pick from for the next time you vote. And NO VOTING MACHINES.

Until you can get rid of the massive CORRUPTION, I don't see much hope. Of course I don't see much hope of accomplishing that.

Things ain't good.
