- We are deeply saddened to learn of Mr. Mackey's heath issue. My brother and I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Mackey at the Orange Bowl in November of 1971. Though our encounter was brief, Mr. Mackey left an impression that has lasted a lifetime. He was a very warm and jovial fellow that made you instantly feel that you had been his friend for years. In our minds, John will always be one of the great ones. God be with you John and Sylvia
