by mannamaribet October 5, 2009 12:27 AM EDT: There is a huge proportion of this continent with lots of sun and lots of wind where power could be easily generated without harming either the earth or people. But the big bucks people- the ones ruled by greed are unwilling to diversify- leave the earth alone - leave the mountains where they are instead of clawing them down- and build power generators out where no one would be affected...

by arbon October 4, 2009 10:24 PM EDT: It looks to me like the "environment-conscious companies" just don't know where to put the waste. It is a bureaucratic game of ineffectual laws. On the other hand, we can't turn the clock back and curtail the demand for power etc.; Reply to this comment
