60 Minutes Creator Don Hewitt Dies

Don Hewitt, recognized as a father of modern television news and the creator of the medium's most successful broadcast, 60 Minutes, died today. He was 86.

My hat is off in appreciation to Mr. Don Hewitt for the excellent job he did, by keeping tabs on all the good and bad people in our nation.
Of course, he stepped on many toes,to bring the reality out for all of us to see it. He was a bright light in the lives of middle class folks. And of course, the irony, is; those who complaint about our Government and the US media, I honestly wish they should go to live in China, Russia, Iran, Cuba or venezuela.
In these countries the only media is control by the State, and you don't have a say into it. These folks should be very happy there.
USA, is not the perfect country, but it surely is "THE BEST IN THE WORLD!!!"

No question that Don Hewitt produced a stealthy liberal news entertainment show in "60 minutes" but I still watch it every Sunday if only for Andy Rooney. Like NPR you just have to separate the news from the propaganda.

I co-produced AFTRA's first AMEE awards dinner at the Waldorf and we gave Don Hewitt a Lifetime Achievement Award. He was a sweet man who I met through another great and nice man, Martin E. Segal. Hewitt's work for CBS was extraordinary. He could not have been nicer and more cooperative to us who were putting this dinner together. He will be missed and can never be thanked enough for his contributions to CBS and to those of us who watched his shows from our homes.
