quanni-

I am interested in hearing your hypothesis over how 9/'11 was fomented by anything other than Al Quaeda. I don't understand how either USA or Israel would benefit from starting the whole messsed-up wars over there, anyway.

I'm not disagreeing with you but just attempting to understand your comment! I, for instance, am all for the creation of a seperate Palestinian state, and can empathize with all Middle Easterners that peace is, or at least should be, the answer to all of this, rather than war.

But here we are talking about a war of The Taliban and Taliban-backed Al Queda, against the USA. Are you sympathetic with their ultra-strict form of Islam? Do you feel that sharia should be imposed by force? How do you feel, for instance, about the Pakistani and ISI influence over Afghanistan?

I would enjoy the conversation and hope you reply.

I will say it again. PUNISHMENT DOED NOT CAHANGE BEHAVIOR. PUNISHMENT SUPPRESSES BEHAVIOR' TO CHANGE AL QAEDA AND TALIBAN MURDEROUS BEHAVIOR WE MUST FIRST FIND OUT WHAT IS MORE SATISFYING FOR THEM. HOW DO WE DO THAT? ASK THEM. Log on to http://www.meyercohen9islovelove.blogspot .com

Afghanistan had nothing to do with 911. All the evidence points to Mossad and CIA, US and Israel as the evil doers of 911. The problem here is war profiteering and the innocent people of the Middle East are the victims. America, Israel and NATO are the real terrorist! This is not a war, this is a massacre. It is an invasion and an occupation. It is all about the Military Industrial Complex! It is all about the rich getting richer and disposing of the worlds brown people in the process. The world is now fueled by greed and deception while the brainwashed masses look on in their controlled trance. World, awaken now into fully awakened consciousness and see what happened while you slept!

Punishment suppresses behavior. It does not change behavior. To change Al-Quaeda and Taliban murderous behavior we have to find out what would be more satisfying for them.

This was an good 60 minutes segment.

However, given the gravity of the subject, it would have been more helpful to have dedicated a whole hour to the investigative interview. I say let Katie have her go at Mr. Gates...seemed to me there was positive chemistry between the two.

I get and email telling me there is a recap of the 60 minutes show so I go to the story I want to read in this case the one on Robert Gates. Press play and nothing happens, blank screen with the controls displayed but no video playing. Can you possibly assist me in explaining what is going on with this problem of no video playing from the link sent to me? Thank you for your assistance with this problem.

They may use Couric, but my complaint is that she is doing 90% of the talking in the so called wide-ranging interview. Gates hardly gets to say anything at all, and I'm left with the impression that the main purpose of the afghan trip was to make a promotional video for the evening news host.

What are u talking about? Don't be ignorant and shortsighted. This is an excellent piece of journalism. Get your eyes out of your a-- and learn a thing or two. Instead of just "bashing" for the fun of it, learn about this man, the war the US is involved in, his views and thoughts as well as his fears and hopes for the future of this war.
Kudos to Katie. Once more she proves she IS a journalist with depth and class!!!!

Please don't start using the tabloid journalist Kati Couric on 60 minutes.
