i hope these videos give viewers some real truth on what is in vaccines.
Compounding is a valuable and historic part of the pharmacy profession; once, all prescriptions were compounded. Restricting compounding, including sterile compounding, would severely hurt health care. I used to work in a specialty hospital that treated eye diseases; we compounded eye drops that were not commercially available (including for fungal infections). If there were a commercial product, we'd have used it in a minute. We freely gave out our recipes, and verified that each pharmacy on our list of possible compounding pharmacies was certified as sterile. But the truth is that our compounded eye drops saved the eyesight of thousands, and yet no manufacturer cared to make them--not enough profit.
Any pharmacy that performs sterile compounding must quarantine the product if it is to be used beyond a certain short time (usually up to 24 hours at room temperature, or 7 days refrigerated), and have an independent lab perform sterility tests on it. Those doing the compounding must be tested for sterility procedures annually. Yes, NECC had issues, but you ignore the thousands of doses of compounded drugs made for individual patients' needs daily in hospitals across the country. NECC crossed the line because they became a large-scale manufacturer, and a careless one at that.
Compounding itself is both safe and necessary. Some facilities do not have the means to make certain compounded drugs--such as the preservative-free methylprednisolone that cause the issue. In order to keep costs down, they must order it for office use from a central facility--a compounding pharmacy. But it is up to each facility who does so to independently verify that manufacturer is a safe one, and to test each lot they receive for sterility. Kudos to the hospitals that did so, and complained to the FDA, including one in Tennessee. Shame on those who did not.
By the way, the people being treated for the fungal meningitis are likely being treated with compounded drugs--because the doses must be individually tailored, and commercial products are limited in scope.
copped out by kicking it back to State authorities. Even if they used the
excuse of their hands were tied by congress they could have issued a warning
to the public about these issues. CBS in softball questioning of the FDA
commissioner never brings this up. Instead they raise the desire for more empowerment for an agency that has failed in the simple task of warning the public.
