What about injuries or death? Whenever a marathon runner dies, the media is all over it. What are the numbers on injuries from these type of obstacle racing events?

Obstacle racing is a total blast and there are a handful of big players like Spartan Race, Tough Mudder and Warrior Dash. But there is a huge cottage industry of local races springing up as well, and training centers are few and far between. There is one in VT though called ORTC at Shale Hill Adventure. It's not a huge corporate machine! I hope this story focuses on the grassroots effort as well. www.shalehilladventure.com
