She's wonderful. He is a boring interviewer...or at least the way this was edited, the questions are, by and large, surfacey, even vapid and obsequious. Maybe their conversation was more interesting than this would suggest. I want to know what inspires her, what she thinks about the work she's part of, what she's learned about life.

Maggie Smith is an amazing actress and her portrayal of Lady G is extraordinary. She gives such an amazing performance that one would think this part was written especially for Maggie to play. I must admit I hadn't watched an episode of Downton Abby until I saw this interview and I renewed my subscription to Hula just so I could watch the entire series. I might add it was money well spent.

Why has this story been on the CBS news site for well over 2 weeks? Who cares? Is it REALLY that great of a story/show? So tired of seeing this old coots face everyday!

Wow! This was such an outstanding interview. I sure did need to listen to this tonight. It's been rough, but it's a great reminder for an actor to keep working hard and doing the work you love no matter your age.

Why is it that those that refuse to suffer fools gladly are referred to as "cantankerous" or in British form, "spiky"?
