911 call: Boy reports shooting deaths of mother, grandmother
February 15, 2013 8:08 AM
It may be one of the most chilling 911 calls you've heard. Listen as Matthew Pete, 9, calls 911 around noon on Sept. 11, 2007, to report the shooting deaths of his mother and grandmother hours earlier. The call is at center of a case that takes "48 Hours" inside a military court martial.

- I didn't see anything wrong with the way they questioned him, they needed to get as clear a picture as they could and it was difficult to believe that these kids stayed all night with the dead grandparent and mom. The call probably lasted 3 minutes or less and then they dispatched someone to the home. I felt the operator was compassionate and asked what she needed to know find out about the situation. They do need to know what has happened and the little boy was very good at answering her questions.
