Panetta to Congress: Do "whatever you can do" to avoid sequester

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta called on Congress today to avoid the automatic spending cuts in the sequester by any means necessary, indicating his preference for a comprehensive deficit deal, but admitting, "In the absence of that deal, obviously I'll support whatever package you can put together to try to de-trigger sequester."
