CBS MoneyWatch editor-at-large Jill Schlesinger talks about a Pew Research Study highlighting the "Sandwich Generation" -- people who support their children and parents at the same time -- and has some financial advice for them.

Oh, you mean "Generation X" has a new role?

Thanks to the crash of 2007, a lot of seniors who had faithfully and in good faith lost a lot of money. It isn't their fault, so why should the kids have to support - especially given stagnating or dropping wages? All of this invariably will lead to a crash, sooner or later, if the status quo is maintained, and also proves the fundamentals of our economy are still not sound.

Never mind about what Gen-Y will be facing... though some of them and who will supersede are making babies all over the place, while putting forth no initiative or desire to contribute to society*, and getting free homes while the rest of us work and toil for less.


* never mind mitigating issues such as offshoring - there are a couple sides to the story and even if we didn't have offshoring, some of them would rather plop things out every 9 months...
