NOAA scientists have now officially declared 2012 the hottest year on record for the lower 48 states. Scott Pelley reports that it was also a year of extreme weather from coast to coast; And, the official who exposed the illegal doping of Lance Armstrong says he received death threats and witnesses were intimidated during his two-year investigation. Scott Pelley spoke with Travis Tygart, the head of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, which polices U.S. Olympic Sports, in his first interview on the investigation.
