It is very stupid to think he can lie everyone. He better to tell the truth and ask for forgiveness.

He decided to kill her so let us know why you do that, be a man stand for what you believed. Or if he liked to hurt her to control and accidentally killed her then tell the truth. And holy god the investigators need to find work at Burger King or Taco Bell where they're more qualified. The stretches of imagination borders the absurd.

It's kinda obvious what he was REALLY doing in Mexico and he found someone with masculine features to be his beard.
