Boehner gives 50-second press conference on "fiscal cliff"

December 19, 2012 11:38 AM

During a brief press conference after which he did not answer any reporters' questions, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, today said the House will pass legislation Thursday to permanently extend tax cuts for 99.81 percent of the American people. "Then the president will have a decision to make: He can call on Senate Democrats to pass that bill," Boehner said, "or he can be responsible for the largest tax increase in American history."
