See all 99 CommentsIt most certainly was a reason. God Bless All Of You!
Here in Palmetto, FL, about a year ago, we had a mass shooting disaster that never made the national news. It involved 2 AK47s and 24 people were hit. A total disaster, but for some reason, it wasn't in the national news.

These families are going through a tragic situation and should not be publized all over television like they were selling Christmas toys. These families have feelings and don't care about much except for their loss.
Parents of autistic children have now become angered by the comments made by the media about autism. So, now the families of the victims and the parents of autistic children have become victims of the media.
Why would someone be so cold to make it sound like the families aren't important but that the shooter is autistic.
This would be the ideal time for the school systems all over America teach cildren that autism is not a disease but that it is a world that most of us don't get to experience. If you are saying that I am crazy, do you have an autistic child or a relative that you deal with very very closely?
My hope would be that to make this a positive situation, make the schools teach the children about disabilities and autism and how these children need their peers to help protect them.
I have heard nothing about the fact that this so called "lock down" school with a security door had a plate glass window next to the door that the murderer simply shot and shattered and entered.
Maybe just maybe, had they thought about Prevention Security as opposed to Deterrent Security, he would not have gained access or at minimum it could have slowed him down enough for the Police to arrive.
No one is talking about this at all..
not make important decisions while you are still in a disturbed
emotional state. When you have time to sort through and deal with the
feeling this particualar event triggered then you can start
considering talking about the real issues.
