The United Nations needs to send in a rescue team to save these people from such unimaginable horrors. I thank God above that he is free now but my heart aches for those left behind.

I am shaken to the core of my very being. just as I was when I learned of the holocaust as a child. How does this level of evil exist in this day and age? The United States and other free countries need to band together and invade this country to free these poor people. The government of N. Korea needs to be overturned in the name of humanity. How can we do any less?

Yes, there are a few organizations that aim to help the issues inside the country, the most popular is helping hands Korea. However, similar to the UN, the impact of their efforts is minimal given how guarded the country is. In previous decades, when other countries besides China sent aid packages, most of them went to higher class citizens and guards. I've read many stories from prisoners that escaped, and they all commented that they had never received or heard of additional food, medical supplies or clothing. In essence, anything that is sent to N. Korea, has to pass by the government inspectors, who can do whatever the hell they want with them.

It's a toss up- do we send help even though we know there's a high risk that only the "evil" people will benefit from them?

Does anyone know if any efforts are being made (and by whom) to stop this? Is there any way to support such efforts?
