What a bunch of media ******. This is what happens when people get drunk on fame. Perhaps the "soccer mom" PIs didn't know that Butler was selling drugs, but I find it very hard to believe that they didn't know that many of the cases they were working on were fake. If they didn't, then they aren't very bright - which makes me wonder how they became PIs.

Who police the Police?. There is no way you gonna give any human being such power and immunity, as we give cops, without turning to bite us in the a#$. This is happening every day from shining sea to shining sea.

Makes you wonder, why I never trust cops. Cops themselves, really believe in their infallibility. As far as I am concerned, as a law abiding citizen, both crooked cops should rot in jail for ever.

One thing for certain there is NO WAY I would be a decoy to lure a married man into doing something the goes outside the bounds of marriage. Adultery takes two...that includes the decoy. The decoy, who goes too far, is south of the true north on the moral compass.

How many times does this need to be aired? This is the second time this aired.

In response to your question of, Who was tha mastermind?... It seems to me that Chris Butler was, and unfortunately it looks as though he got the sweeter deal as far as sentencing goes.

I believe Norm Wielsch, who had previously been of legitimate acquaintancy to Butler at one time, became manipulated and lured into Butler's world of corruption a little a time. Perhaps the allure of Butler's high flying lifestyle became too much of a temptation as Wielsch's nerve related disease progressed and threatened to eventually end his career. I think in the face of that, the desire for money ultimately became his weakness and vulnerability to Butler's scams.

Wielsch's remorse seems genuine. His tears and expressions were indicative of a man who let himself get involved in crime after so many years of fighting crime and is legitimately sorry he ever did. As he says, he compromised his integrity which was key to his previous duties and career. He seems to cognizant that, regardless of the length or extent of his punishment, he has ruined his life and career.

Conversely, Butler managed to scheme his way into a plea deal by turning against Wielsch. We saw no signs of remorse from Butler..just avoidance of the cameras. He would like to lay low, (in prison of course) and disappear off the radar for now, but will most likely just be using his time to plot and scheme his next venture.

Both men should be serving time for their crimes, but I believe Wielsch should be the one doing less time (10 - 12 years) while Butler should be doing 15 - 20.

PLEASE stop reposting old episodes. Changing the cover picture does NOT make it a different story.

He should've just left the whole thing as a legit private investigation firm. He was doing really well with the idea of having P.I. moms. But like a lot of other criminals, he let his ego get the better of him and he started doing anything for the camera.

I enjoyed the Dr Phil participation i wish 48 hours docs would more often have well spoken psychologistes explaning the personalities disorders often obvious in people who committe criminal offences or are out of control emotionaly and their background so we could have a deeper reading of human nature and the role of emotions.

I usually love this show to night however i was asking mysef. Why am i watchig this if they are saying the cases were no even real? Good lesson for me i should had stay in the libray and study. Maybe i did not understand and the storie was a little dull. But thank you. Most of your shows are sually intriguing and engaging.
