Sad...... I dont think Chris killed her.I think the killer is still on the loose and another thing that bothered me was about the girl filming Chris's apartment after they were done cleaning....He asked if it was clean and she said "all things considering"...wait what??.. and then she ZOOMED in on the supposedly blood stained area of the carpet which struck me as odd.You dont normally do something like that and that was odd which made me think that meant something to her.I believe the girl filming the apartment knows something or actually did it herself.

And I also remember when they found her body there was a knife still embedded in her......what happened to that knife?? Whoever killed her apparently wanted to keep part of her since they did try to cut her arm off and whoever it is I guess wasnt strong enough to do that, which made me think maybe it was a female and the killing was extremely brutal so it was very, very personal, someone hated her very much....

There are so many lopholes in the case, it leaves one to wonder. I cannot say definitively that Chris is guilty base on the evidence given here. I think most of the guilt was placed on him because of his MO, because of the way he kept his hair and because according to them he is weird. This is certainly not a goo enough reason. On the other hand what is still baffling is how her blood got into the apartment, was it absolutely confirmed that it was her blood? why was there only one location of blood in the entire crime seen (accept for where her body was found). Another thing is what made the so called big time lawyer, who have dealt with other big cases gave up so easily. Not much was said about the lawyers and the defense team, except that the police planted the evidence in the apartment. The entire case seemed to have been rushed to conclusion for unknown reasons. I know 40 mins isnt long enough, but this one left too many unanswered questions. I also dont get the hugs between mothers at the conclusion. If I were his mother, id be disgusted if my sone was going to be in prison for a crime he did not commit. I did not see that. She was not crying she was smiling.

This episode just leaves so many unanswered questions. I understand that Chris's DNA matched the DNA that was found on the duct tape, but how did Chris even become a suspect in the first place? I mean when they found DNA on the duct tape how did they know to compare it to Chris's DNA, he must have been a suspect prior to comparing his DNA with what was found on the duct tape, no? I agree with other posters that there are many other questions that just went unanswered in this episode, in fact I dont think I have ever seen another 48 hours episode that was quite like this. Lots of stuff just being said but with no investigation or interviews to really back much of anything up or give some insight to the circumstances of how things happened. Kinda disappointed with this episode, but I still gotta love ya 48 hours.

Something's wrong here - maybe just sorry communication. Why would the prosecutor be so willing to accept a reduction to manslaughter to serve SIX YEARS when in the same breath they're talking about finding a pool of MacKenzie's blood soaked thru the carpet at Chris's apt. and how it was such a horrible murder and they think he's a sociopath??? Thanks for the public protection, guys - set a sociopath free in six years??? I have more questions than answers. Did school mates/teachers agree there was never any conversation between Chris and MacKenzie that they saw? No neighbors saw MacKenzie go to Chris's apartment? How did he get her there - a rouse? Looks like she'd have told her boyfriend if she was going there under a rouse. Did the girlfriend of Chris know MacKenzie? What did she say when questioned? Is it possible he stopped her on the road out to her home and killed her and brought blood back to the apartment (given the Hannabal interest)? I mean come on - either the guy is guilty and should be in jail for life, or he's not guilty and should never have been put in jail. This sounds way too much like a compromise. We think he did it, but don't know so he can go to jail for a few years and that way if he's innocent he hasn't been wronged to a major degree. I'd like to hear some follow-up reporting on this vague set of facts and the resulting decision to plea bargain. Are there really cases where police have planted evidence in this town as the defense stated? That's an important clarification to make.

She walked to her car, shut the door and had just enough time to start the engine and drive away. I thought they said she sent her boyfriend a text while she was in the car before she left. Normally when you send someone a text, you wait for a reply. She sent, "Hey." That is initiating a conversation. Why not wait for a reply. It's not much more than a contradiction that should be explored. She was definitely not in the car long enough to be texting.
As she pulled out of the parking area, was she going in the direction of the Chris's apartment where she was allegedly murdered? They have him on camera also. What direction did he go in? Could they have even met at his apartment based on the answers to these questions?
