Andy's Compulsive Counting

May 3, 2009 6:46 PM

Counting down President Obama's first 100 days in office hasn't been easy for Andy Rooney and his compulsive counting, but he hopes no one's counting how many days he's been in his office.

I finally found a soulmate!! I'm a compulsive counter, too!!! I love your weekly segments--I kind of "count" on you each week.....

Dear Mr Rooney, I always watch your segment even if I don't watch the rest of 60 minutes. I don't always agree but most of the time I do. I like to hear what you have to say whether or not I agree.
I am retired now and have three children and three grand children oh yeah and a wife of 48 years as well. I always wondered if I had a mental problem because I always counted things like stairs, picking blackberries, picking up potatoes that I plowed out just about anything. I have always counted, I don't know why, I never did remember how many I picked or how many stairs that there were I would just count. Now I know I must have a mental problem if you do it too...
By the way I like your desk and pencil holder. If I had a desk I am sure it would be something like yours as I love working with wood.

Well, I am a man but I absolutely agree with what Miss Jeaanie has writen. No one better than a wpman to keep it going on in a house, evern if it is the White one. But , please, keep the Fashion world out of it...Thatisi where money goes away faster and uselessly. And by Fashion, I mean folowing the tastes of the Elite, in their most superficial needs.

Dear Mr. Rooney, I listened with interest your comments on Secretary of Savings. Please, Andy, "HE" would be called the Secretary of Savings???? "SHE" would do a much better job as the Secretary of Savings!!!! Especially if SHE were a mom & wife of a lower or middle-class family. SHE would know how to clip coupons, stretch the family budget, make do with what is available & work like there is no tomorrow. Let's be fair here....and smart! (You could at least have said "they")
With respect, Jeanne Krueger, Neenah, WI
