LeBron James

Is LeBron James the best player in the NBA? He's only 24 years old and promises his best years are still ahead. Steve Kroft hits the hardwood with "King James."

I suggest that all schools ask CBS's permission to use this story as a teaching tool. Use the program to illustrate how RESPECT, LISTENING, HARDWORK AND LOYALTY is the road to success in any endeavour one chooses-law, medicine, lathe operator, etc.

When Steve Kroft asserted that LeBron was voted ?most likely to succeed? by his class, I couldn?t help but smirk, as I knew that honored belonged not to James, but to my good friend Pat Vassel. Having graduated from St. Vincent ? St. Mary?s just a year before LBJ, I understood that even as high school senior, LeBron was no longer ?likely? to succeed, it was only a matter of by how much.

I am about a half year younger than Lebron, We were almost completely similar when growing up, We both were loved and raised by our single mom while they were 16 and we both didn't get into trouble at all. EXCEPT I did not become a phenom. Lebron's mother showed how she can still raise a child and make him become an unbelieveable person. I respect her and Lebron for that. Single mothers may struggle a little but they still make us into great men. As for me I'm still trying to get my carrer started (5 years trying) and become a firefighter. I've watched Lebron since the day he graduated.. a few days ahead of me and to the day i'm saying in my head that he's unbelieveable. Lebron if I ever meet you personally I'd be happy with a handshake. You've been blessed bro and keep it up. Also remember to ALWAYS love your moms as I can see you do not hide that at all. Good luck in the future

ski4life9, I use PC and same problem. It has to do with CBS player. I am surprised that their tech team never caught it or do not care or just plain lazy to fix it. oh well...

LeBron is a class act. A product of the Cleveland area. I personally was worried what the instant fame would do to him. But he has proved himself as a wonderful role model. Someone everyone looks up to and admires. We are all so very proud of the person he has become. He BELONGS here in Cleveland and his roots will keep him here, where he is loved more than he will ever be anywhere else. We THANK him for giving us hope. GO CAVS!!!!!

Excellent story on Lebron. I love Lebron and his team. Let's give credit where credit is due. Lebron is one of the brightest young men I've seen yet. He has come a long way. He is a strong black man. Keep up the good work. For those who don't know i.e Charles Barkley, Cleveland is great for what it doesn't have. We don't have an ex ball player running around town slamming into things. We have the greatest basketball team in the country. These guys are not only good on the floor but also in the community. Lebron, Cleveland is the best location in the nation. Please stay. No earthquakes, no hurricanes, not too cold nor too hot.

Really enjoyed the story on LeBron James. His stable mind is truly respected. I am very happy to see that he is being a great father to the 2 boys he has. I praise his mom for doing a great job with limited resources. He has great morals, ethics and respect for himself and others.

What a vision he has not just dunking basket ball. This 47 year old is taking this young man's advice: you can't be afraid to fail, is the only way you succeed.

Lebron is incredable on and off the court. I am have been born and raised in the Akron area and have had my sports heart broken too many times at age 45 I have learned that I now along with my children can say that we have a piece of sports history like my father did with the great Jim Brown. This kid has been through the roughest part of town and he has held himself with class and gaives hope not only to the poor but to all.

Great story on Lebron. Unbelievable that a child can dictate his own terms to a high school in order to attend that school Even more unbelievable are the "educators" that allowed it to happen.
