Words cant describe what you did. I watched 60 minutes over and over that nite on tape. You can be VERY PROUD of what you did. Your character, concentration, the way you present yourself should be a model to americans.

The next time you, as a passenger, think your crew isn''t young and hip enough, keep Flight 1549 in mind. If it weren''t for the extensive training and years of experience of the cockpit and cabin crew, the outcome of this flight would have been a disaster. As a former Flight Attendant I know that only repeated recurrent training and air time make you a "seasoned" crew member. I can''t even begin to express my admiration and love for this crew. They are true Heros in a world that desperately needs them.

It''s been a long wait to meet the crew, but well worth it. I''ve been following this fantastic survival tale since it happened and really congratulate the whole crew for their utmost professionalism. And, isn''t "Sully" a real charmer?!?

Well done to all of you, and every good wish to the passengers and their families.

Sully is more than a hero around the world, even though he is so humble he feels he was just doing his job! If there is truth in him being fired from the airline because of loosing an aircraft, then I will never fly with that airline again! What happened was an "Act of God". He can not be responsible for the birds, but he was more than responsible for 155 passengers and another tragedy to NY City. NY needed an uplift as far as I am concerned, and any airline should feel privledged to have Sully work for them. He was nothing but professional and sincere until the bitter end. If the man ran for President of the US, I would trust him and certainly vote for him as well. Not only is he a HERO in my eyes, but he is the meaning of a REAL PROFESSIONAL and exeptional MAN! SULLY, I SALUTE YOU AND YOUR STAFF THAT DAY! May you all always have an angel by your side!If this is true about any of them being fired, the airline should hang their heads in shame and I hope people prove it to the airline with their actions directed toward their business!

Oh my word I have just read below after I added my comments that Captain Sully has been fired by US Air...
If this is true I will never use their services as long as I''m alive.
How dare you US Air I worked in the aero space union in Seattle Wa. and worked for very little to help build the overhead bins get some class behind your CEO thinking the public will not stand what you''ve been accused to firing Captain Sully
Us Air what would you think you%u2019d be paying out for 100 plus lives for negligent if Capt. Sully wasn%u2019t there? again I state get some class in you CEO and your regulations
For these pilots and what they do as well as their family sacrifices.

What a man and crew...They are hero''s to us all!
I thank our lord for a team showing us that if we all do our Professions we can achieve miracles as we go through our lives...
Caption Sullenberger face will never leave my heart & mine as long as I live. His crew showed us being a part of a team can be heroes and save so many other lives during crises. God Bless not only the crew but their traffic controller and the Passengers who all kept their Composures for the directions to survive the horrific experience in all their lives

I just admire this man so much, what a hero! Thank God for his bravery and skill, and confidence too. The brave, skillled and good are entitled to their confidence. All of his answers to Katie point to a psychologically disciplined, well-rounded, "normal," and gifted human being. I am glad for all of us that he knew he could do it. Bravo!

Thank you to Katie Couric and "60 Minutes" for this inspiring, in-depth behind the scenes look at the "Miracle on the Hudson."

Captain Sullenberger is right. We have had so much bad news, so many worries about the economy, two wars, and things in our world going awry, that we need good news and this was a story that brought some relief. But that doesn''t lessen the beauty of what he and his flight crew did that day. Their selfless, responsible professionalism that put the lives of all those people in their care ahead of their own welfare is worthy of our respect. I heard Captain Sullenberger''s wife in an earlier newscast comment that he was the most honorable man she knew. After listening to him this evening I can understand her feeling.

President Obama and Captain Sullenberger--already the world seems a brighter and better place!

NO THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE
Sully is a hero, not only for USAirways, but for the whole USA. There has been more than one "incident" for USAirways, and there has NEVER, ever been a firing over a crew memeber in the job that they have done in the face of an emergency.
This is absolutely an absurd acusation!

It is very unlikely that they fired or disciplined Sullenberger. There is nothing Sullenberger could have done to avoid the birds (in fact, the ATC system failed him). Once the birdstrikes occurred and there was a double engine failure, there is nothing he could have done other than attempt a re-light and pick a spot for a forced landing, with both actions undertaken simultaneously. This is exactly what was done. There is nothing he could have done better or differently.

Do you realize how improbable it is that anyone would survive a total loss of power on an airliner in a urban area like New York?

You might get away with that in a Cessna on a good day, but it is unheard of for an airliner to get away with that.

It is unlikely he''s been disciplined in any way.

Why hasn''t US Air not commented about this to 60 minutes? Will they give an interview? Someone needs to get ahold of the Union for pilots and flight attendants to give a statement to the public. This information is coming from other US Air employees. Please let us know.

Just watched interview. Spoke with sister in law who is a flight attendant with US Air. She is currently in Philly. She was crying, after watching the interview. She also stated that US Air fired "Sully". Stating they were mad because he lost an aircraft. This is a shame. Is this true?
