I wanted to confirm for the individual concerned as to whether this woman's actions will taint others view of the filipino people. I myself would never submit to stereotyping of an individual based on the behavior of this sociopathic person. I think that it would be ignorant (not to mention a mistake) for anyone to do so.

I got this link from a cousin-in-laws...he is married to my cousin, a filipina and they were blessed with 3 adorable children and the eldest was famous in thier school and won the grand champion in the piano category...they are happily married. I shared this because not all Filipinas are like Sonia...i knew some of "Pinays" have same character of Sonia too... we called Filipino women as Pinay....but, I would like to let you know that I also known so many foreigners not only Americans who are also abusive to their filipina wives.

I JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU THIS AND SHARE TO ALL OF YOU THAT....we have 10 fingers in our hand....they are not the same sizes, not the same colors....MEANING, ALSO THE PEOPLE AROUND US ARE THE NOT THE SAME! WE all differs in our character, attitude and behavior specially how we grew up!

I am a filipina, living here in the Philippines and I am also a government employee working in City Hall, in the Tax Assessor Department. My father is a retired Police Officer.

I was brought up with my parents to be a God fearing person. My father serve the government until he retired with dignity and honor, he got medals for serving the Police Force with excellent performance and he is not a police officer, wearing a uniform and being a goons silently!

I shared this, because as what I said...not all the people around us are the same. I can also say that am proud of being a filipina and being in the government, I been working in the government for 20 years, working hard to earn a living and meet both ends at my own sweat without corrupting peoples money.

I even help people that is still naive about laws specially in the department am working....specially those foreigners who are married with filipina and I did gave some piece of advice when they bought real properties here in Philippines. I guide them.

I have a filipina friend who married an american, they meet in a dating site. After long communication they both decided to meet in person and their marriage was a great one. He even wanted to live here in my hometown because he find it out that our people here are accomodating and hospitable. I am one of his filipino friends here who represented on his side when he married a filipina friend...because he comes here in the Philippines alone.

He had shared to me why he divorced his american wife...because of money, that his ex-american wife is a materialistic person and could not even give priorities to her family.

As i said before...people around us are not the same just like our 10 fingers in our hand...not same size, not same color...but we are all the children of God.

Another story to share:

A friend of mine who is on her early 50's, with 4 baggages and a breast cancer...she meet her loving husband through dating site, the guy fell in love when he meet my friend and found out the truthfullness from her...and love her whole heartedly without doubt. They are happily married.

I asked him why he was divorced with his wife when they have adorable children and God fearing person and his children are well educated....i pictured, that his wife brought up their children so well.

But was shocked with his answer, that he divorced his wife after a long marriage, because his wife was hiring someone to kill him when he inherited millions from his father after the death of his stepmother. His mother died in breast cancer and got married with the second wife.

His father died first and later after some years, his step mother died too and left a huge inheritance. By the way, he is the only son. His father and his second wife had no children. He told me that he could not imagined that his wife could do such plan of killing him because of money, because of what he inherited.

He did not told my filipina friend about this, only later after thier marriage. I was only thankful to him when he spent money for the treatment of his filipina wife. I told my filipina friend to be thankful first to God, for sending her angel, using her new found husband. For accepting her for being what she is as a person and that her life is owned now by her husband. I told her to be thankful and be appreciative to her husband, because she had her second life.

They are happily married now and she is a good wife to her husband....her husband is a professor and teaching in grade school.

We filipinas, here in the Philippines were also reading about the news in other countries and the killings of other filipinas because of insurances....

AGAIN, AM SHARING THIS STORY, BECAUSE JUST TO REMIND EVERYBODY THAT PEOPLE AROUND US ARE NOT THE SAME....one mistake of a person is not the mistake of all!

Thanks you for spending time to read my long comments here!

I am Nia, from the Philippines.

I am a Filipino woman living here in United States since last year. I am married to a teacher; a US citizen. I felt so sad to those people who died because of the greediness. Most of the Filipinos had a real heart and very warm to others but there are some who really don't care for others but only for their self. I felt ashamed. I just want to let you guys know that not all Filipinos mind had the same as Sonia's. Please don't close your heart to the Filipinos but be cautious and know them more before you made any judgment. We are not SAINTS but we are not EVIL too. There are good and bad in every raises.

May the victims of these case rest in peace...

This was an incredible story. It touched my heart deeply. As an Army brat and a product of a similar circumstance minus the murders. My mother was a Army groupy and took advantage of her husbands. I am sickened to know that people would be so secretive to the point of hurting loved ones and damaging family ties. I myself could never take advantage of my loved ones for monetary gain and murder. My heart goes out to the families in this story. I hope in time the wounds will not hurt as much. My faith in God helped me through the hurt. I met my real father after I was 30. My mother and father divorced when I was 2 or 3 I was always told my father was abusive to me and her and that he did not want me. I was reunited with my father and learned the truth. My mother had lied to me all of these years and knew where my father was and one day out of the blue gave me a phone number. Why do people do such hurtful things. I try to understand, but it still baffles me.

Mr. Riskin & family, heartfelt prayers to you and your family. I hope Larry's remains are returned to you soon.
To Mr. Bourdeau & family--I am glad you have some closure with the remains that were returned to you.
Very sad story indeed.
:-(
May they rest in peace.

To CBS News, a very good story fair and balanced. My family and I thank you for your concern and compassion. Your story may give the authorities in L A and the PI a nudge towards solving these cases. I think Justice will be done in Sonia's case. As far as Larry and Earl are concerned, those cases will probably never be solved as no one in the PI cares about a couple of Americans being murdered. I pray for the return of Larry's remains to me.

chigurl1-are you kidding me? It''s pretty clear she paid her family to kill them, and they did. Yeah, she had a big heart alright. Didn''t even raise her own son or even keep a picture of him in her house. Lovely lady. Is he one of the people you can never let down? Her son that she didn''t even care enough about to raise, or her husbands she had murdered? Yeah, OK.

Interesting story... sad, but interesting... I really feel sorry for the the family of those who died. I hope that the police would be able to find ways into asking about the participation of that Eric dela Cruz. Who is he?
