What does wanting to sell inauguration tickets have to do with being racist? I''m not racist, and you couldn''t give me front-row-seats! Not because he''s black...I just flat don''t like Obama. I don''t think he''s been honest with the public about his background and I definitely don''t feel he''s qualified to run this country. Ultimately, I hope Obama proves me wrong for the sake of all Americans. In the meantime, Andy, keep up the good work. We hope to enjoy many more of your insightful, informative and entertaining-as-heck segments!

I believe it is time for Mr Rooney retire. His rhetoric is tired and not enlightened in any way. Mr. Rooney please consider retiring America has grown beyond your antiquated opinions on politics and society, as well as your narrow minded thinking.

Mr Rooney, you are trying to know something of historical significant, not historical significant of something. Palin have done so much for SNL as obama have done for 60 min. do you recall ORVAL FAUBUS in 1957,"i have a dream"? if so, you should be proud obama will be your next president too, because you are no different from ANN NICKSON COOPER Obama mention in his victory speech. you have seen this nation transform itself through many dark past that you should be proud enough at your age to see the new dawn of American leadership at hands. you are missing another inaguration facts that should surprise you. i wish i can recieved a ticket in the mail like you. in my heart i know you are talking about the crowd problems, but remember, change take place when you take risk and dare to become involved with experimenting with your life.you should go MR.ROONEY and try to get me one ticket too. we still love you

The past few epsiodes of Andy Rooney have convinced me that he has outlived his usefulness to the program and in fact has now become a liability. His attitude about the historic moment of Obama''s inaguration is perhaps representative of many other narrow-minded columnists but I would prefer not to have it offered on prime time television on a program that is otherwise very objective and illuminating in its approah. Retire Andy. Please retire!

Mr Rooney: I am appalled by your closing comments tonight. I shall never watch your segment again.

Mr. Rooney, I am glad you had the courage to state publicly that you do not want to attend Obama''s inauguration. Personally, I''d rather spend the day looking over my back for members of the socialist regime arresting me for my political views. How someone can imply that Andy is racist because he does not wish to attend the inauguration just shows your blind liberal ignorance (the same thing that elected the Senator into office).

Mr. Rooney, I am disapointed with your comments tonight I will gladly take your ticket, e-mail me at abdrew@comcast.net. It will be an honor for me to attend the inauguration however, i was appalled to find out that you would make such a comment worldwide about the most historic event in our country and the world. For future references, I was always tought if you don''t have anything nice to say don''t say anything at all.

my wife & I were appalled by Andy Rooney''s closing statement about selling his inauguration ticket. We were shocked that an American could be so racist on a world watchded newsshow as 60 minutes. Mr. Andy Rooney should keep his hateful brain thoughts to himself.

My husband and I are having a disagreement over Andy''s piece this evening. Andy said "When I get my inauguration invitation in the mail I will give it to someone who really wants to go", my husband thought he meant he does not care for Barack Obama. I believe Andy, in his usual style, is not interested in going to yet another inauguration with millions of people and all the big to-do, not that he doesn''t care for our next president elect. Please help clear this up for us. P.S. We both really enjoy Andy every week at the end of the broadcast. Terry and Sheila Davis

Please help clear this up for us. Did you mean you don''t care for our president elect, or, as is typical of your style, you don''t want to be bothered by the millions of people that will be there and all the other hoopla that goes with an event of this nature. "Been there-done that?"

So lets see...you end your commentary by saying, "I hope my inauguration tickets are in the mail...maybe I will sell the tickets to someone who really wants to go". WOW! What an ungrateful slob you are. Yes, I read between the words that you DON''T want to go, even though it''s the most positive event of the 21st century. I WON''T speculate as to WHY you wouldn''t want to go, but I would really like to know. I know your commentary is SUPPOSE to be sarcasm, but if that was your intent I wish you could have been a little more respectful about a "first" in American history. I can''t imagine you being so crass about another "First" that should make us all be proud to witness and to have an opportunity to possibly attend, when SO MANY will NOT have the means or access that someone in your position does...well I just expected better from someone of your stature.
