- Wow. This is amazing. Being a Nigerian-American and knowing what the Nigerian leaders have not done with its oil wealth, this makes one cry. The Saudi''s have complete control of their oil, whereas we in Nigeria are still letting all and everyone (including the Chinese) come in take what they want as long as the accounts and pockets of those in charge are well greased. This is a pure example of national interest vs self interest. Like the words of Alan Payton, "Cry thy Beloved Country." I cry for Nigeria and others like it.

- I think this is an interesting story on a topic that will hit every American one way or the other. I just have a couple of comments on what I have read here so far. Why do people have to bring politics into the argument when they are wrong. AJBUZZ blames the Republicans for lying about gas price, yet the prices only dropped the day after President Bush authorized companies to explore offshore drilling and other areas in Alaska. I do not believe bailing out the Big 3 automakers, because other companies including Honda, Toyota and Saturn make cars in the United States and employee our citizens and they are not asking for money. Maybe it''s time to look at the UAW who refuses to budge. Wasn''t the Saudis who helped pull our country out of a gas crisis in the 70''s? I believe the increased their production at and lowered costs for us. He also noted how they stopped Venezuela and Iran from doubling the price of gas. I hope that they diversify so they will not be in a heap of trouble as we continue to decrease our demand, 30% so far. Yet, I feel lucky that past administrations who ScorpiSag does not support strengthened this alliance in the past.

- I just paid $1.67 per gallon for gas. The Republicans told us this would only happen if we drilled in Alaska and off our shores...NOT TRUE. We need to reduce our demand. Go Green. Let the Saudis eat their oil. We are not afraid.

- To much to be said of the oil we use. we do use it, but the real hoards are the Auto Industry, Mortgage & Loan Companys, Credit Card Companys, asking for billions of dollars from the government to save themselves. Why not give to the poor who owe these company''s the money. Give the little guy the money like in vouchers payable to the company''s they owe mortgage, car, credit cards company''s. That would be the real BAILOUT. These companys are double dipping. Stimulate the country without putting it deeper in debt. Flip the view, Bailout the people, for We the people for the people of our government, and as a we, We deserve it as a country, not as a company.

- we are supporting their abuse toward women. Hey "ScorpioSag", keep projection these absurd negativism onto yourself. Women are the largest landowners in Saudi Arabia and statistically suffer less abuse(rape etc)than American women. Go read refutable sources before spewing your garbage.

- Oh Great... Americans have spent decades being under the greasy oil thumb of foreign countries, now they want us to buy their solar energy? OH PLEASE. Yes, I support Al Gore and Barrack Obama, the Clintons, all political leaders in USA who will work to getting us off an economy that pays foreign countries for our power. I want us to get our own solar, wind power... put Ameircans to work here..... when we buy our energy from foreign countries , we are supporting their abuse toward women.
