The whole 'casing isn't there' argument is pretty freakin hilarious!!! It is VERY obvious that most things in the bag were moved!!! The little white fabric strip isn't in any other shot!!! All of the pens are taken out!!! The pencil is turned over!!! SOOOOO MANY things 'aren't there' or moved in almost all the shots!! The Defence's whole 'casing isn't there' argument just proves how stupid they are!!!!

I can only hope that this episode did NOT air. Not only did 48 hours do a terrible job reporting (and believe me, I have no bias to CBS, I'm as obsessed as a school girl over the Jonas Brothers) but the APD was clearly brain damaged from the midwest heat. Not collecting the family computer? Not checking for DNA and fingerprints thoroughly? A LADDER?! I'm shocked they even took the time to interview neighbors! And a BIG congratulations for their gun shot residue test on the daughter-I bet they celebrated at the local watering hole for that effort. Almost all murders are by people we know or associated with-why they wouldn't start from the inner circle and work their way out (aka. the crazy barbarian who made threatening phone calls on a daily basis to Mrs. Ohlemachero) is unreal. The victim's brother has every right to continue his search, seeing as he's the only one willing and capable...and perhaps without motive to "plant" evidence. Something doesn't sit right with either the daughter or Ron...give them some truth serum and they should open wider than Jaws. I only wish they did some more extensive probing into her life (boyfriends? drug use? family conflicts?) and his (previous jobs? daily routine?). Maybe CBS can work out a deal to have that guy from Lie To Me come bust out some unseen behavioral twitches to point these people in the right direction. I sincerely hope the murderer(s) is/are found, justice and karma have a way of working, it's only a matter of time.

There was picture after picture of the same spot, and then out of no where a shell casing appears.Give me a break. The cops say there were 5 or 6 casings found at the crime scene and then the final total is 4, give me another break. And who does'nt know what number to call in an emergency, only somebody who wants to make sure that the dying are dead.Who has the motive, who has the means, who has the location? There is good reason why the family is going on their gut instincts, they know it was the daughter, and I don't blame them for their animosity.Who stands the most to gain?Case closed.

The mere fact that her relatives think she murdered her parents imply she really did it coz such negativity runs in her family.

Randy Ohlemacher - Seriously - Good Luck. A private investigator could probably get the job done. Ron may never stand trial for the murders . . . at least not until his gun is found in the middle of the desert or in a river. Start looking near Taos. His day will come and we might see some real tears.

What a disgrace that CBS would portray Mrs. Ohlemacher in such a negative light . . . she can''t even defend herself. Some women have male friends - that doesn''t mean she''s having an affair with them.

Speaking of Mrs. Ohlemacher . . . anyone that works for the federal government knows that you cannot just arbitrarily increase your FEGLI life insurance. The ability to increase coverage, without a major life event, has only occurred once in the last 7 years. Perhaps Bernadette was thinking ahead - believing they were going to take out a loan against their home and wanted to ensure their daughter could take care of their assets should something happen. After all, that is the purpose of life insurance. How sad that Renee''s aunts and grandmother were so vindictive on the segment.

Special Investigator Nguyen (Secret Service) apparently thinks Ron''s good for the crime and the feds aren''t usually wrong. No wonder APD believes their crime is solved - the feds are involved and there is a lot more evidence against Santiago (although circumstantial) that 48 Hours didn''t tell you about!

48 Hours didn''t tell you that Ron Santiago worked as an "armed security guard" in the evenings. They let Ron tell you the mortgage business was a 24 hour a day job. Ron makes stupid mistakes, but he isn''t stupid. Ron talked about his 9mm and he studied law enforcement ... he wanted to be a cop. He knows about fires too - his uncle is a high ranking fire fighter in ABQ.

Did 48 Hours really dub in their correspondent, Erin Moriarty, shooting at a gun range. Honestly, you don''t get 3 targets at the range. 48 Hours actually filmed one of Santiago''s victims practicing to ensure she could protect herself should Santiago decide he needs to come back and finish the job. Props to Calibers - they are making sure that she can protect herself.

Gee, the spent shell casing...did you see the soft sides on the inside of Ron''s gun bag? Is it possible that the shell casing became loose when the police officers handled the bag? Ron obviously missed it too when he cleaned out his gun bag. How ironic that Ron can remember the exact day of the week his "clients" were murdered, but can''t remember who he gave his gun to. Perhaps he left it in Taos when he went golfing.

CBS 48 Hours takes the liberties of a news reporting agency and delivers biased and questionable reports. 48 Hours tells the people they interview that they are going to delivery one thing and then they spin it for the ratings - apparently the truth doesn''t matter.

Is it possible that Santiago has it out for retired Air Force staff sergeants - at least 3 of the 4 victims Santiago targeted were retired Air Force.

Ron Santiago''s forgery victims are glad to be alive. 48 Hours failed to tell you Santiago showed up at their apartment at 6 AM, uninvited, the week before their brakes were cut. 48 Hours filmed the apartment complex and the apartment for the segment, but they didn''t air that either. Their brakes were cut on the exact day Santiago passed the forged checks to them. But, 48 hours didn''t tell you that the suspect first tried to cut the metal portion of the brake line, unsuccessfully, and then moved to the tubing portion. APD didn''t fingerprint the truck because the victims didn''t have a named suspect . . . at the time. The forgery victims were new to ABQ (less than 6 months) and didn''t know anyone - no enemies.

Couldn''t agree more with JohnMan12 above. Right on. No convincing evidence ties Renee to the crimes. Without a clear direction to go in, police did their best to contrive something to get the pressure off. The police case represented a combination of suspicion, innuendo, old family grievances, and circumstantial factors. Take dialing the wrong police number, for instance, as Renee did when she found her parents. This was cited as suspicious. This is the sort of reflexive behavior often seen in people responding to an extreme crisis without thinking. Practically every homicide case has examples of this. I am thinking back to the Cynthia Summers muurder case in CA.....a young lady indicted and convicted on the basis of faulty evidence, misinterpretation, and an unusual lifestyle. Summers didn''t grieve either, in a typical way at least, and got a lot of life insurance. These factors were all red herrings. Summers was found innocent earlier this year! It seems to me that there are a lot of other District Attornies that need to learn from that case, including this one. Why the rush to judgment? I feel a great GREAT sympathy for Renee....she is innocent and her relationship with her family has been ruined because of this. However, it appears that she will be better off in the long run without them.
